Potencies on 1H don't really matter that much (apart from SS, which sucks), staff potencies on the other hand have very visible result. But if you're doing fests or IW spellweaver is so much more useful than archmage (or annihilator, which is actually the better potency for a non-destruction staff). |

You can easily get more Damage from Forge and Hath Perks when compared to Castspeed and Anti-Risist. |

Pretty much everyone prefers Penetrator/Spellweaver (and all the mages doingPFFests go for 5P/4S). Also annihilator is not that useful for imperil mages since imperil + T3 + crit is already a pretty much guaranteed one-shot (even more true after the new perks). So, at the end of the day annihilator is pretty good only for no-imperil mages (or for Bosses), but not using imperil means cast speed is very important for high difficulties so Spellweaver is much more useful than any other damage potency. Basically, a nice potency that isn't really useful. |
