I got to looking and i see a problem with the lottery.

The Equipment Lottery lets you spend GP on a chance to win the specific equipment piece shown on the left. Each lottery period lasts 24 hours. Every midnight UTC, a drawing is held, and a new lottery period starts.
In addition to the grand prize, half of the total GP entered into the lottery is divided between four entrants. You can only ever win one of the prizes no matter how many tickets you purchase.
You can buy tickets until a random, pre-determined and undisclosed time between 23:50 and 23:59. The random factor is there to help prevent last-second snipes.

If so than Why is there people winning the prize more than one time?

I hardly call 4 different GP pots prizes, more like anti rage measures.

I only had a 10% chance of winning the grand prize both times I won. I didn't overspend my GP the way I'm fairly sure Stony did. I got super lucky, that's all.

Well yes, and i'm not attacking no one i as just wondering how did you and stony Both win the main prize.
Me i done lost count of the amount of GP i done put into it every time giving me about a 1 to 3% chance of winning.
Now the GP prizes i see lots of the same people winning it and that's fine, just the same person winning the main prize more than one time was kind off to me, it made me, ok something feels wrong here.

Stony at one time gave me over 200 hath just to spend on pony's for my shops PPR.
It lasted me some time at 5 hath a pony (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

It's mostly a part of the mechanics, outside of pure luck, that balances between people with tons of GP and people with less. Someone might dump enough GP to "force win" an item, but at least that means someone else will get half of that GP.

Estoc actually SHOULD be t3. Katana does not deserve the rare slot at all (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

How much stronger is a level 400 than say, my level? Anyone know the percentage? Should I make a concerted effort towards reaching lvl 400?

The above chart shows how the new prof formula compares to the old, while simultaneously showing the effect of the new imperil. It does not take into account the new "floor" that stops specific mitigation from going below 0.

Breakeven occurs at 125 prof over level @ level 500, or a prof factor of 0.25
/w Imperil and using holy/dark spells the breakeven is at 247 prof over level, or a prof factor of 0.494
/w Imperil and using elemental spells the breakeven is at 326 prof over level, or a prof factor of 0.652


The following charts compare old damage to new, so if the vertical axis says 0.7, that means you are doing 70% of prepatch damage if all else stays the same

For all of these the no imperil curves look quite nice, the floor does make things pretty ugly and impacts elemental harder then holy/dark. If your prof was at a decent amount over your level (not likely since prof gear was not reliable) you would come out better post-patch over pre-patch if you didn't use Imperil much (also not likely)

If Imperil was used as part of the combat strategy then the impart on outputted damage can most likely be felt most in two situations. Either if using elemental (because the cap is fairly easy to each) or if using holy/dark and spamming them against Schoolgirls/FSM, @-1 specific mitigation and imperil/prof not reducing their mitigations any further a holy/dark mage will be doing ~70-77% of the damage they were doing pre-patch.

Still, the top 3 or 4 lines of each chart should be used for the end game because of how high average specific mitigation gets and this shows how the change makes Imperil slightly less necessary for maging.

WIP: how new resist mechanics can be "FUN" and trying to improve what can be viewed as the "Average" specific mitigation for various power levels when impacted by prof and imperil.
