and my HP jump to 8110/8888 and MP 1615/1678. Looks like HP and MP fully regenerated at the beginning of the turn.

It looks like in-combat regeneration is bugged.
According to the
wiki, HP isn't supposed to auto-regenerate in battle, and MP regen per turn is Magic Regen / 15 which for me would be 26.8/15 = 1.79 points per turn. I wasn't being charged upkeep for SoL either.
The numbers in arenas are also off, if I count along.
