QUOTE(Tenboro @ Nov 15 2013, 13:30) There were about 200 monsters that had a name but weren't activated for some reason, those also ended up being un-named. That one appears to have been one of them. Why, I have no idea.
I recall that the name was already taken when I first named the monster, but I used a full-width space to bypass it. Probably has something to do with that. It has plenty of wins and has been bringing me mats since I first made it, so I assumed everything was alright. Anyway, the original must have been wiped too since I renamed it with a regular half-width space and it was accepted. Problem solved. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Looks like most of mine are still fine (I did just feed them, lol).
I doubt the names I want are available yet though.

Idea.
Register a bunch of monsters with awesome names, then sell them.

Does 5 Overpower potencies make a big/noticeable difference in counter-parry? Wondering if I should reforge my estoc and go for only that potency.....

It's better than 0 counter-parry, but the overall chance of your attack being parried in PFUDOR still remains annoyingly high. This post has been edited by buktore: Nov 16 2013, 20:20

I remember Trashcat doing some mathematical stuff, calculating chances of parry with various levels of Overpower, and StonedCat was involved in this discussion.... Anyone remember seeing this in another thread??

QUOTE(buktore @ Nov 17 2013, 03:40) Yes, thanks. I didn't read it too carefully since I mage mostly. QUOTE(skillchip @ Oct 5 2013, 11:16) Also to remember, if the main mob you are swinging against parries you don't get to domino
The fact that if the main mob parries, no other mob gets hit, is probably the most mind-numbingly frustrating about parry.

I can't remember if I posted any info about counter-resist yet. Someone remind me? And yeah, that right there is the most annoying part of parries

Yes you did, thanks for that (page after counterparry math). Though is it possible to trashcat up a new Magic Score Formula? One that incorporates proficiencies as well (probably have to use hypothetical PFUDOR and max chaos values)?

Problem with that is that you'd have to estimate the average resistance for each element in order to have a correct gauge on the effectiveness of proficiency and imperil.

For it to incorporate efficiency you would need average resistances like chosen said. I have a spreadsheet for it right now though (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) This post has been edited by skillchip: Nov 18 2013, 17:58

Look at the Sprites, they are totally harmless but contribution a lot to average resistances. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) This post has been edited by gc00018: Nov 18 2013, 18:02

Did something go wrong with the monster retirement? I thought unfed monster below PL 250 would be retired: QUOTE Tenboro @ehentai 5 Oct As a reminder, the first monsters below PL 250 that haven't been fed for more than six months are nearing the point where they deactivate. My PL 174 WWII pilots have never been fed but they've all remained active. Also, Eila still hasn't been retired and upgraded to +100 everything. Something must have gone wrong there as well (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)
