Feeling a bit sad at how my Magnificent Shocking Estoc of Slaughter turned out. I got 2 Butcher after the first 2 levels, but after that, well, it's as written in the popup. Seem that I got roundhouse'd in the ass by RNG again. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Can anyone post an IW'd weapon with level 5 Fatality or Overpower? Maybe, just maybe then I'll be able to whip myself back to maxing a club that I've recently bought. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Why should it be? Guaranteed Economizer 5 on every staff would be OP. Besides, letting the players torture themselves trying to get it is fun.

There should be a balance though. I'd be willing to go 5-10x as many times if it meant I got what I want over it being random

Existing potencies are more likely to be leveled up than one getting new ones. How much more likely I don't know.
But I think I know a good strategy for getting the the potencies I want.

Case 1: (this was druing patch 0.72 or earlier)
Magnificent Shocking Estoc of the Illithid
At a low difficulty enough to get only one potency after an IW run, I think I did maybe 6 IW runs for the first 6 potencies.
They appeared in this order:
IW run 1 Swift Strike LV.1
IW run 2 Swift Strike LV.2
IW run 3 Swift Strike LV.3
IW run 4 Swift Strike LV.4
IW run 5 Butcher LV.1
IW run 6 Swift Strike LV.5

Case 2: (this was later on, patch 0.75 or earlier)
Magnificent Demonic Axe of Slaughter
well 5x swfit strikes for this one was rather easy, it having 4 pabs. In which order the potencies appeared I don't because it ran through an IW service.

Exquisite Demonic Rapier of Balance same story here as the one above though this one was a cliffhanger. At one point it had 4x swift strikes and 4x butchers.

Case 3:
Legendary Demonic Wakizashi of Swiftness
IW service was used for this one as well, my strategy was to get at least 2x swift strikes after 1x IW run, reforging it if it did not succeed. After maybe 7 times not succeeding with this, the new 0.77 patch hit.
So, I ran it thorugh an IW serivce yet again and was lucky enough to get 5x swift strikes without reforging once. As I followed the progress, the potencies appeared in this order (if I remember correctly):

1st look: 1x butcher 2x swift strikes, 1x overpower
2nd look: 1x butcher 4x swift strikes, 1x overpower
3rd look: 1x butcher 5x swift strikes, 1x overpower
4th look: 1x butcher 5x swift strikes, 1x fatality, 1x overpower
5th look: 2x butcher 5x swift strikes, 1x fatality, 1x overpower

So I had a lot of luck. Though without potencies the waki had ~10.59%? innate attack speed which ain't much for a waki of swiftness but I'm satisfied with it's overall properties. The highest innate attack speed (14,87%) I've seen in a waki is this one.

Case 4:

Magnificent Demonic Katana of Slaughter
This is a piece of shit I'm looking to replace with a new 0.77 demonic katana, I've also searched the forums a few times but I haven't found anything good enough yet. Anyway the story for this one is the same as the waki one but I don't remember in which order the potencies appeared. At level 10 it ended up with only 4 swift strikes but I'm fine with that because I'm not gonna hang on to it once I find a better one. Anyway at one point it looked something like this:

Level 7, Swift Strike Lv.4

There were suggestions a while back on stuff like that:

Instead of removing/refunding Spelunker and possibly adding a way to reset potency level for IW, simply reconstitute Spelunker to add potency levels 11 through 20. The last levels would still take a lot of time with the continued EXP growth, but it would eliminate potential (probable) complaining due to the luck element involved with a reset feature and having to retry repeatedly to get the desired potencies.

Yes, it would result in more stats on each equipment, but you would be paying for it with credits and time.

This also avoids possible complications caused by forging potency stats and then resetting.

And in the likelihood that a piece has acquired all possible upgrades without completing all 20 levels, you would just simply not receive anything, or possibly one or more of the less desirable stats could be permitted to break the 5 level cap in the event that all available stats are maxed.

How about doing that and then add this: Increase Spelunker training to around 50 (current level 10 spelunker is only 200k anyway), and allow all Potencies to reach level 10 or whatever. This would be another great credit sink, plus even if it takes a long time, anybody can eventually get all the potencies for their gear. I don't care if it takes 100k exp or more for the final potency level, if somebody is willing to go through that much trouble, then he deserves the bonus.

So yeah. C'mon Tenboro, make this happen. Bring back the PAB Potencies if you have to.

Thanks for the tips. I also tried this approach. I did IW on Nintendo to get Econo1, but subsequent runs never produced Econo2 or 3. I tried Battletoads, which gives 2 potencies in one run. Generally the potencies gained this way are the same, such as Spellweaver1+2, Penetrator1+2, Annihilator1+2, or Archmage1+2. I never saw Economizer in 10 such BT runs.
