Does anybody else have issues with Chrome's various Build 29 iterations interfering with the hourly random encounters?

My home computer has one of the v29 builds and it skips hourly battles from both the main .org page and the main galleries page. I would still get credit for dawn of the new day events if I refreshed, but the event message would not load.

The only way I could access the random encounters was by refreshing an already loaded gallery tab not less than one hour after loading either the main page or main gallery page.

Another computer I use just auto updated (from either v18, v19, or v21) to a v29 build and all the sudden it too is having the same issues.

Coincidentally both computers' browsers are having issues with the Japanese version of pixiv when loading albums. Did chrome change the way it interacts with java?

Is anybody else experiencing this or is it just me?

People were complaining awhile ago about HV being slow when Chrome 29 was just released. I'd suggest just going back to v28 or whatever version you used the most.

It's not an issue of slowness, the home computer has a 3930K @4.7GHz and 32GB RAM

HV even runs fine enough on this old Core 2 Duo at 2GHz w/ 3GB RAM.

The problem is with the hidden hourlies and just as importantly my trying to avoid an uninstall which would cause me to lose all my settings / wanted cookies / auto fills / etc.

Try disabling your ALL chrome extensions.
Some ad-blocking extensions hide random encounters.

Version 32.0.1659.2 dev-m Aura also hides it. Sometimes it works.

Update this morning to Version 32.0.1664.3 dev-m Aura seems to have fixed what ever was wrong. Also Aw Snap! page crash if you selected writing inside an item window seems to have been fixed.

Also chrome is faster now then past 2-3 versions but way slower then internet explorer...if only i could live without hvstat (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif). Shame cause i rarely if ever use IE (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif).

Sucks somewhat but use Opera? Yeah, it's one of the few things I use it for - online text/door games.

Midori sucked balls, i think the only way to enjoy that browser is if you install one of those addons that let you surf with keyboard shortcuts.

I think the new Iron 29 is slower then Iron 28, i read they switched renderer...

Although, the vast majority of browsers are based on only four rendering engines (Gecko, Blink, WebKit and Trident); Blink (recently forked from WebKit) also being adopted by Opera in favor of Presto. Yes, I know Konqueror is based on KHTML which was forked into WebKit, but no one* is actually using it.

* Konqueror is #76 on the list of browsers used to access Galleries, between "Nokia5233" and "SAMSUNG-GT-S5620".

What are, say, the top 10 browsers used to access the galleries?

Just out of curiosity.

Just out of curiosity.

Probably Chrome, FF, IE, Opera, and Safari followed by the top 5 mobile browsers.
