Ratchet & Clank HD Collection

I just played Ratchet & Clank 1, mostly so far. I kind of . . . just want to get it out of the way.
Yes, it was great . . . back in 2002. When I was 12, and this was the first and only R&C title available. With that, you can predict that I'm going to make the claim that this game aged MISERABLY.
The controls are irritating, there's little variety, no depth, little feel of progression, and some of the platforming is so annoying. It's still a game, but it's just not nearly as fun as it use to be. Especially after how much just about every single R&C game after this one spoiled us like crazy! They literally improve EVERYTHING about the first title in the sequel, and just make everything even better in the title after that (it was Deadlocked that started making sacrifices).
Speaking of Deadlocked, I'm still kind of disappointed that it's not part of this collection . . . but who knows? Perhaps they're considering an essentials collection that includes Deadlocked, Secret Agent Clank, and Size Matters? Worked for God of War: Origins Collection. Maybe it could work for good ol' Ratchet & Clank! HD Collections are all the rage now, anyway.
Also played 3, but went straight to online multiplayer. Not only because you get perks for starting 3's single player campaign with a complete save file of 1 and 2, but because I ADORED the online multiplayer.
Needless to say, it's not as jam-packed with players on the matchmaking menus, but there's still enough people to get some good games going. It feels exactly like it did in 2004, and I can't get enough of it. This and Twisted Metal make me want to get a mic already.
