How is it? I'm not a huge fan of the Yakuza series, but the silly idea really intrigued me.

Personally I really like it, but that's because I am a huge fan of the Yakuza series. Although the combat is nothing like the original series as you may already have figured it out. So instead of a beat em-up, they switch it to a third person shooter. And that's where the love or hate comes into play for any fan of the yakuza games. Also the shooting mechanics isn't anything like a standard third person shooter, so it may take awhile getting used to it depending on how fast you can adept to it.

Beside the combat, everything else is pretty much the same. Main quest are split in to portions allowing you to do other stuff between the missions. So if you are bored of the main story, you can do some side quest, mini games, enter the infected zone to do some leveling up for yourself or your partner and all the silly stuff that you will see from time to time.

But if you say you aren't a fan of the yakuza series, then I would say don't bother with this game too.

Gears of War 1, which I actually kind of miss. Rounds end instantly and stomps feel more satisfying when you get to go Billy Kane on someone's ass and twirl then stomp someone.

Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles
The HD-ified version for PS3, to be specific.

Well, it doesn't look any different from the Wii version. The screen looks smoother and more clear, but that's about it. It's not an overhaul that was built from the ground-up like the House of the Dead: Overkill remake for PS3.

Anyway, it's good.

It's amusing for now, but I know I'm going lose interest with it just like other games adapted from an anime. Those kind of games are rarely well designed because they're just there to make quick money for the franchise. They're just as bad as the movie related games in the West.

Lufia: curse of the sinistrals. Good on its own, but not that good compared to the original one. The story feels kind of rushed. But that's only if you have played the original.
