I don't need it shipped outside Japan, you can have someone in Japan place and order, and scan it. (to cut down on shipping)

The scanner can re-list the book on yahoo auctions, to further cut down on the cost.
Do you have a scanner that does that? (I remember and older scanner doing that)

Sadly, our scanner is not in Japan. We would love to find such a person but it is difficult to find such a Japanese person willing to accept payments for books and then scan them. Of course this would greatly reduce costs since shipping would not be necessary but right now this is not an option for us.

Also, it is very hard to re-sell items on yahoo Japan as we are not in Japan. We may be able to re-sell elsewhere, but I need to speak with my members first about this issue.

How fast can you order stuff? I dont mean: for them to arrive and be scanned. I mean: ordered so items doesnt sell out... some items sell out quite fast and i prefer if you dont have to wait for a bulk order to be made)

Are you on irc or something that so conversations doesnt have to be so slow?

We are not new scanners but have been scanning for a long time. Only now we've appeared in here to offer a scanning service.

We can order from any online seller and we've ordered from all the ones you've mentioned and others.

We prefer to do bulk orders but we always discuss with the buyer about the importance of the purchase. One option is when a buyer would rather save money and wait a bit but risk losing the item due to selling out. However, if the buyer wishes to spend more money to avoid missing an item, then we can also order more quickly. However, some sites like Toranoana and MelonBooks may report an item is in stock but then when we place the order, we will learn it is sold out. There is nothing we can do about this but we can look for another source to buy it from. Please keep in mind that a new book may be scanned by another person more quickly than we can manage so there is always a risk when buying the newest items.

Status Update
We first started this thread on this forum proposing the scan group and have not posted much more afterwards. We’re sorry for the long absence and lack of communication, but we thank everyone who has made our group a big success! After two years of first announcing the group’s activity on this forum, we have increased membership and orders and we are not easily able to count the number of books that we've scanned due to the large volume of orders.
