The first anime that I watched that really got me into anime, ie I knew it was a Japanese cartoon, and wasn't something like Pokemon or such on the television where it had been dubbed, changed up, etc was Ghost in the Shell. I think I saw it when I was nine years old; that opening scene and I was hooked for life on the stuff.
