My reasoning for wanting to this is that it is so much easier to identify individual silhouettes over individual tiles, and it's less likely you'll confuse one proc for another, such as confusing imperiled for stunned. Or getting held up when you get channelling, and you fail to identify which buff you need to recast because the only information you have is that you are missing one icon from your status bar. With silhouettes, you'd notice which familiar shape was missing and you could recast the needed buff most faster because you didn't need to work it out first.
