QUOTE(DYasha @ Aug 13 2013, 15:08) Shh... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Tenb will nerf the hell out of salvaging if you keep bragging about how wonderful it is now. It's still pretty crappy, since you'll lose the piece of item that could've been sold for millions of credits (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Not to salvage your god tier piece to forge a slightly more god tier piece (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

That's why it's infinitely better if you can acquire your own equipment. No buyer's remorse when you have to salvage that "god-tier" piece for an 0.1% better upgrade...

I wish I can get upgrades myself (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) But when you get stuff like this that you start to lose hope (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)

QUOTE(Azru @ Aug 13 2013, 20:31) I have returned! ...for now
...And? Well anyway, I just did an experiment to see how viable it is to bulk upgrade a crude item for the forge exp along and then savaging it. (IMG:[ i480.photobucket.com] http://i480.photobucket.com/albums/rr163/anomtai/crudesalvageexperiment.png) In hindsight, I should of WTB first before using those bindings. I lost a protection and warding bindings, 3 fleets, 2 Resists, 1 Dampening, 2 Deflections and 4 Thunder-children. I also failed to log how much leather I had beforehand. And I had posted my retirement in this thread so it only made sense to post my return. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Indeed so! (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) You are correct and I believe it was Dan31 (if I recall the username correctly) who sent it to me to use and it might've taken you a while because I haven't been around or at least posting for quite a while.

Doing that doesn't really work anymore due to the amount of exp returned when you salvage (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Glad I finished Forge back when that was the way to do it. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Being able to get back most of your mats and special items is far more conducive to forging though.

I'm glad I was around to reap the benefit for 35 forge levels before shit changed (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) QUOTE(FiniteA @ Aug 14 2013, 07:35) So salvaging an item that had given 10exp will cost 10exp?
No. Salvaging an item that gave you x forge exp will give you back 0.8-0.9x forge exp along with the equivalent in materials and bindings.

It is not result form how wanderful the salvaging is BUT how bad the current vitality of the market. There are less and less Newbies joining since 0.76, I don't know why.. maybe the patch is newbie-unfriendly? maybe energy drinks are too expensive? err..so much potential reason.. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) How do you know this? Is there a table of new HV players somewhere? If true, I think it is newbie unfriendly. There should be some automated walkthrough helper when someone first starts playing... it can help them mount new weapons and allocate exp and ability points. A little helper, kinda like that stupid little paper clip in Microsoft Office. I always wanted to take that thing to the Reynolds recycling center to get 5cents.

MPV replaces the one-page-at-a-time viewer with an endless-scroll viewer when you actually go to read the doujin; it doesn't change anything on the index pages.
