Was talking about rates not quality

Like now its maxed
- Droprate bonus for monster PowerLevel when PL is larger than 500 was changed from (PL - 500) / 20 to (PL - 500) / 50, capped to 15.
Before it didn't have a cap, or you never told us about the cap

But since you are talking about the quality formula, can we get how the monster goes into it?

That's a drop rate modifier, not an equipment rate modifier, and the change was because monster PLs would increase by a lot at the high end.

One would have to have been facing monsters of an average pre-patch PL high enough that the monster bonus would be higher than the overall increase in drop rate to actually see a decrease in drop rate. There were only a handful of monsters that high before the patch, so it's literally impossible.

Just trying to nail this all out so the player can stop complaining

Drop Rates:
It appears max drop rate now is 27.5%, 12.5% from base (max scav), 15% from monster bonus. This starts at PL 1250
This was possible @ monster PL 850 pre-patch.

Power Levels:
Average PL gleaned from a players data base and weighted samples in the current patch: ~850, but very low PL monsters can be seen (ie no spirit bar or possibly not given a spirit attack, need that verified.)
Average PL Pre-Patch was around 700-800, and it was extremely rare to see monsters below 500, and there was a PL1000 mob in almost every round.

Below is assuming max scav
Average:
Pre-Patch: ~750: 12.5% bonus, 22.5% total
Post-Patch: ~850: 7.0% bonus, 19.5% total

Looking at PL1000 mobs:
Pre-patch: 25% bonus, 35.0% total
Post-Patch:10% bonus, 22.5% total

Eila the 1501st
Pre-Patch: 50.05% bonus, 60.05% total
Post-Patch: 15.0% bonus, 27.5% total

not taken into account: anything not mentioned, and pl-adjustments.

Just want to chime in that since this patch went live, I'm seeing way more fairs and crudes and even averages out of IWBTH with max LotD than pre-patch.

Also another thing.

I'm pretty sure general drop rates has in fact been lowered. Because I'm not getting potions as often as I used to.

Another thing I noticed is that I think the formula for selecting monsters for battle is fucked up. People are getting monsters lower than their level on IWBTH. I'm seeing monsters with no spirit bar on IWBTH (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Seriously, if you're going to do use math to prove a point, do it correctly. Clone Eila is a massive outlier, and many other monsters were boosted up to that level. Stick to the average.

So tenboro what's the point of having a cap?

Before this patch, 1501PL gives us 50.

Now, with this patch and the new formula, 2000PL gives us 30.

Is there even a need to cap it if all you wanted was to nerf the effect?
