Seriously, things like
this should never be allowed to happen. Absolutely fucking horrible. I'm so glad I don't have to worry about that anymore. If Tenboro wants to make hybrid builds possible he should start from scratch and design a new armor type (or make large changes to arcanist). Intelligence/wisdom on light armor was a huge nerf for light melee and one of the reasons it couldn't compete with heavy. Awesome decision by TenB, imo.
Well, I'm a bit more rested now and I suppose you have a point. I guess. It was just more of a shock. I do hope that something will emerge in the future that makes hybrid "supported" since it apparently is not. Actually, I just wish there were more varied armor types with different benefits/drawbacks.

You might think it's more fun, that doesn't mean it is supported.
Yeah, the Battlecaster suffix sure fooled me. The fact that Light gave bonus HP/MP and other factors seemed to point towards hybrid possibilities.

Do you really hybrid? I gave it up back when I was level 40 because 2-handed weapons are AoE by clicking.
I was working towards it and had managed to get it working reasonably well with DW. The clicking gets boring and I thought it was nice to be able to use spells when I got a bunch of mobs who had the same weakness. Combine it with elemental/holy/dark weapon and Spike Shield that procs the correct debuff, you could do decent damage. Like I said, I haven't been able to try it out post-patch since I've lost all my T3 and most of my T2 spells. Also, the loss of my elemental/holy/dark mitigations from ability points hurts, alot.

Never happened as far as I know. The closest would be people complaining that their legendary shade of shadowdancer has 4 pabs and 2 of them are int and wis. Also, the analogy fits more you(trying to both melee and mage) than light armor guys(who dump int and wis).
Well, if it was wanting 14's then it would be more valid. I've never really cared all that much about having max PABs, but if you get all 5 pieces of armor with decent spreads over 5 PABs, you won't be totally screwed in either battle or magic department.
