Because they have advantages such as alternating between the two to get status effects with 25% elemental resistance reduction, 10% MMI reduction with Breached status effect, and explosions. They also have Drain augmentations.

I've been trying 3 different styles.

Pure cold element, pure dark, and hybrid holy/dark.

Pure cold wins hands down for doing anything > 100 rounds. It basically wins on everything aside from cure power.

Dark did... nothing really compared to cold.

Holy / Dark hybrid gets the resist reduction and decent cycling of T2 spells + better cure, but the damage isnt noticeably different from cold element spamming and the mana cost is 3x. Hybrid also has a lower one shot potential and probably needs a sustained damage boost to make it viable (ie. make explosions more than a token boost do damage) since your upfront burst is lower. Hybrid also requires getting 2 different imperil bonuses. Bleh.


TLDR elements > dark / light and hybrid needs help.

Also, let's not change the colors any more, the new ones are fine.

Also, +1 to rolling the holy/dark augmentation into one, perhaps in the same section as better/faster imperil. Something like Imperiled Spirit?

I'd like to know anyone who has successfully used Spirit Theft. It seems completely useless.

I'm really surprised Tenboro didn't do anything about it, even though I highly doubt there's any player that would say Drain is even decent. [It's terrible by design and terrible by execution, so...]

Something like the font enginge but for drop colors would be nice, especially if it could be used to change the text color of gem drops.

Me. And it's saved me many times when I ended up Sparking too many times due to carelessness or Spirit Stance starts taking its toll in marathons.

I've been lucky so far; the last two days have been a bit spastic, but I've never had a 403 at the Riddlemaster.

Also, did something change with shard droppage? I'm currently in a normal IW run, and I just got a featherweight shard. I thought they weren't supposed to drop on Normal?

Last I remember, Void and Aether are the ones that don't drop on Normal.
