Sorry to sidetrack... About the caption I posted here, is it a bot trap? It'd be truly great!

Well, Melee can do "Mash Buttons, All dead". You gotta give mages something.

Nope, just a display issue probably of somebody coming back and selling their QE- makes no sense as a trap anyway. Anyway, they're gone. @andywong: and melee wants "hold down 4 and win all arenas" (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) This post has been edited by Lement: Jun 5 2013, 11:23

QUOTE(Rei-Tenshi @ Jun 5 2013, 15:30) No, there is a point. I wanted to avoid a situation like the Ether Tap change, where Tenb said he listened to a bunch of low level mages whining for a change to ET. Every mid-high level mage (well, except danixxx) was like "the fuck, where is that shitty mage, i wanna strangle him".
And we knew Tenboro doesn't like to reverse his changes, so we showed him some calculations and got favorable adjustments in return. That's why we need to do.

So how does melee's 5555555555444444444448888888 counts as strategy? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

So has Tenboro given an answer to this yet? I'm curious if he did on IRC or what: QUOTE I still want to hear what advantages Tenboro intends for mages to have over melee in this patch. Because right now, there is still zero reason to mage over melee.

QUOTE(dragon695 @ Jun 5 2013, 02:10) I would add that Ripened Soul should be returned to the more EtherTap-like way it was, but that too is asking for a rollback.
I guess the real question is: Has anyone figured out a way to make Mana/Spirit Theft useful?
Not very well, right now :-/ Since it's a Drain augmentation, it only works one monster and doesn't last but a couple of turns for very little return, at least for a mage Might work better for a melee player I dumped it for now in my ability page to gain and enhance a few more useful spells

Well, you can still do the 3 last arenas faster than melee.

Can you give me your script that auto-cycles all the spells on cooldown?

No need, i am mashing R to cast corruption 75% of the arena.

You sure? I have a crappy melee set, and it is faster and safer to go through DwD. Well, you are a catgirl/hath mogul after all, your gear is 10x better than other mages.

Did you take into account the region and ping levels of these users?

I'm pretty sure there are a bunch of people here with pings >250. Hell, my ping back home is around 350ms, sometimes 400ms. And since you seem to be in the mood to answer questions: Are you satisfied with the state of grinding and tedium in the game now? Joe was saying that your long-term goal was to reduce grinding, but it seriously looks the opposite with the changes in this patch.

Let mage consume stamina faster (I used to stop at 79), release the contraints (switch of ability point) to switch from mage to melee (most players are trapped in their style I believe), you will have a "better" number. btw, I cannot see the reason why there must be a 50:50 balance between mage and melee.

I don't measure region, but looking at time, staff usage is very even throughout the day, varying from ~46% during Asian prime hours to ~51% during US prime hours. QUOTE(Rei-Tenshi @ Jun 5 2013, 12:25) Are you satisfied with the state of grinding and tedium in the game now? People grind exactly how much they want. The only way to reduce "grinding and tedium" would be to introduce hard limits to how much you can do just that.
