I do wish that spikes did meaningful damage, but the procs make up for it... in a small way, but w/e.

Nope, still does damage related to the amount they hit you for. 5 is the minimum, what you get when you avoid the attack.

I just got my ass kicked on a random encounter. Spark of Life doesn't do a fucking thing now if there's a mob with two monsters using special attacks every other turn.

Add Absorb to your protections, it might help you survive now that it works.

Okay, just did a 90 round BT IW.

Level 260/261, with Assimilator 3

Elemental Prof to start: 247.15
Elemental Prof at end: 247.18

I think prof gain might be just a bit. . . below intended levels given that 2-3 or those runs is enough for me to level up.

It only absorbs a few mp (15 mp on average for me I think), but it nullifies all damage just-one-time from killer magical hits. Useful against some sprites at least, or if you're low in hp or if you don't have the spirit shield on. (it works well against monsters' void skills).

It can always stop the first great skill (max 90% chance of triggering with aps) to help you avoid getting killed from several consecutive skill attacks.

Spell Proficiency gain is way too low. I have assimilator 7 and spamming tier 1's I am lucky to get one increase every 10 battles, with many round each battle.

Something has to be adjusted there...I could raise 1.00 level of spell proficiency reasonably before, and now it's yet another struggle, as if the new game system and loss of ability points from artifacts wasn't enough of one already.

Fix?

Below graphs show the relative damage of Dark vs Electric as monsters get resistance upgrades. The y-axis being the relative damage, 1.2 means Dark does 1.2x more damage then Electric on average. The x-axis is how many upgrades a monster has to all of its elements, which should be pretty even in the current system.

All monster classes were weighted evenly because the current system is trying to make all monster types show up more evenly by traveling in packs. Dark was chosen because it is the "stronger' of Holy/Dark in terms of monsters resistances, and Electric was chosen from the four elements because it is currently the weakest. This decision was to show how lopsided things are right now.

Chosen's SUPER PROF for holy/dark. Instead of -25 specific mit for all elements granted you have the prof needed, it is now -50 for holy/dark and -25 for elemental [Super Prof is in all the prof lines, just wouldn't fit in the legend]

So in the current system, dark is strong provided imperil stays out of the picture. So hopefully the abilities that are added later give Dark/Holy at least 25% more damage!

I can't tell how balanced that is(and I'ven't looked at the damage per spell/cost per spell that differ), due not sure how many times one needs imperil.

But I like how it can split mages into high and low difficulty styles, potentially. If done right.

Which is exactly what I've been wishing for in maging, not just plain "maging" but like meleeing split into several radically different styles.

well, now it's much, much easier to imperil everything, only 3 casts without resists. But you gain 3x damage worst case as an elemental mage, so it's a pretty sweet tradeoff IMO.

No such thing for holy/dark, that's why I suggested the prof thing. And it's not because I use a prof staff, I swear!!! (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I think Tenboro messed up prof big time.

I use a prof staff and I got hit hard.

I'm now at 1/3rd of my pre-patch speed. That's melee speed (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)
