I am now consistantly dieing on Normal difficulty hourly encounters. I really can't believe I'm having this much trouble. I used to do hourlys on Nintendo. Is anybody else finding the game harder now? Should I abandon my mage set altogether? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

QUOTE(Tenboro @ May 20 2013, 15:55) Like I said before, some of the highest primary attribute monsters will get an adjustment for those very few that were insane enough to go past millions of crystals. Eh. Seems like one of the database conversions didn't go quite right for people who cleared at max that specific difficulty levels. But hey, free credits. You should stop throwing that number around. You're using a constructed example with the one specific monster that had the highest prepatch MMI in the game, with imperil. It's not representative.
Well, then I guess going from 1-shotting Ragingheart Exellion to barely denting 30% of its HP in IWBTH, both imperiled, is more representative? Because right now, if I don't Imperil *every single monster in the round*, it's shit damage. If you want I'll collect some data for Smite without imperil, to see how much damage it deals on average.

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) If you already trained a couple of assimilator, it will make it easier to switch your mode. Or you need to spend a lot of time, increasing your proficiencies. Or wait 'till this game is stable enough for mage-type play. Either way should work.

With 261 prof, I my health goes from 13670 to 15552 with maxed heavy armor HP bonus. I think it's fine as is, since that's pretty close to where my health was pre-patch, and that health goes much farther. They scale with proficiency, so if you proficiency is low, you shouldn't expect a large bonus from those abilities. With high proficiencies, the bonuses actually make a pretty big difference, and I'd say the +% hp is better than +end, and light armor having both +%hp and +%mp is WAY better than +agi. ah i see, my proficiencies are very low. in my case, it just about tens in increase for light and cloth. about hundreds in increase for heavy.

Thanks for waiving reset fees!
Light sword-and-shield still seems playable, based on two Random Encounters on Nintendo. On one hand, mana and Silence run out faster, but OTOH, my skills regained some of their old punch. Not sure if Spirit Shield is triggering when I take a hard hit.
Is it true that Storm spikes increase evade and Frost spikes slow the enemy? If so, what do the other types do?

Storm spike induce Turbulent Air, and decrease the hit chance of the monsters by 10%, and reduce the electric resistance by 25. Frost spike induce Freezing Limbs, and reduce the speed of the monster by 10%, and reduce the fire resistance by 25. You may find it out more at here. http://ehwiki.org/wiki/Spells#Status_EffectsIt's really handy. I use fire spike, and have cold based melee attack. Lightning proc > decrease resist (and apparently evade too) Fire proc > 10% decrease in damage from monsters (same as the dark proc I think) This post has been edited by T_Starrk: May 20 2013, 12:33

Is that with the new HP perk or heavily forged (toward END) gear? I was at ~16800 before 0.76 and I'm currently sitting at 13863 with maxed HP Tank, Heavy Armor, 295+ Heavy Prof and every piece of equipment has END as PAB (497 total END). Maybe I'm missing something with my abilities? :E Edit: clarifying on this: I have no clue how heavy Armor got maxed since it requires lv. 350, I guess some day 1 shenanigans. Reset'd and now it works properly (ie, can't max it at lv. 301 lol, 13774 HP now). This post has been edited by wr4st3r: May 20 2013, 13:27

Sorry but where is my Happy Pill ? I played around 300 rounds but it was nowhere to be found... at this rate my monster's morale will drop to zero (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Then feed it crystals.
Funny how you make us pick between crystal and what's basically xtc.

Maybe some scavenger training will help.....

I take back what I said about Nintendo random encounters. 10 piercing-resistant monsters kick my ass. I should double-check if I have any decent ethereals.

Except instead of 50% spirit used, it required only 25% spirit, according to wiki, that is. I wonder if I should just sell the scrolls, considering Scroll of Gods is far more useful. This post has been edited by kamou: May 20 2013, 13:38
