T can you look into allowing more space for the buff/debuff icons on monsters? With the Ripen Soul+Soul Fire+Coalesced+Holy/Dark Proc I couldn't see half the buffs on FSM it seemed.
edit: for more info I seemed to have capped at 5 or 6 icons (can't remember how many). It was 4 or 5 beside the monster name and then 1 more icon below the monster name and that was it.

QUOTE(kamou @ May 19 2013, 12:41) How about your assimilator training? I thought you have at least 2 equipment slot used.
I have no training in assimilator and i'm flat broke after dumping 500k on new packrat :/

QUOTE(cavecricket48 @ May 19 2013, 19:08) Riot posts their patch notes on their PBE essentially a month before it hits live. Usually two weeks beforehand, they'll do some unannounced AMA on Reddit or do an actual forum post explaining the stuff.
Riot's no great company, but I think they have a pretty good model with respect to patch notes. [It helps that Morello/FeralPony happen to be there to explain stuff in the vids.] Would a PBE of some kind be too hard to implement? You're comparing me to a company with 7 worldwide offices and more than a hundred employees, whose primary purpose is to make and maintain a single game. Really? I could post preliminary patch notes, but taking feedback on that? People would generally respond in a "under no circumstances should the particular style I play be made weaker, and preferably it should be made stronger". The reason I do it the way I do is that I don't just get the feedback from people, but I also get all the numbers. What kind of battle you played, how it ended up, what you gained from it, what difficulty you used, which equipment you used. Which means I can see if it's just whinging or genuine issues. This patch is very unusual in that it ripped out two central systems and replaced them with one unified system - and major changes like that will always cause ripples.

Yeah, I compared you to a company- but only one aspect of the company, their policy on patch notes.
And I'm curious- did you and nobody in IRC ever have misgivings about essentially performing Ragnarok on the entire system?

One small request on the Monster Lab (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Might we please get a numeric value of the total required and gradient scale on the Morale & Hunger bars?

QUOTE(TheTornPrince @ May 19 2013, 12:15) The Monster Lab one wasn't. You could have at least spared me the me the shock (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) If I hadn't just upgraded Hartman I could have created a monster with better primary attributes then Eila with just the crystals I had lying around. What I don't understand is why nobody is complaining about this? Have people not realised that their monsters are now completely worthless? The other thing I don't understand is why this change was made. I don't see why the cost of primary stat upgrades had to be cut by 90%. It looks like you just felt like doing something evil (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) Oh well, I'm finding things to be surprisingly relaxing now that I don't have to worry about the Hentaiverse. I'm just waiting for confirmation that Eila will disappear one the food thing is fully implemented. It would be stupid to exempt her from feeding given how few crystals it requires to create a level 1600 monster now. It's not that difficult to feed the monsters, I think you can even buy food from other players. And since you are in the Gold Star Club, their Morale drains half as fast. And I'm guessing your monsters have a healthy Chaos Level which will further reduce the morale drain speed. Yes, I think you have quite a bit more monsters than me so I guess you'll have to sacrifice some, though I'm not sure. Eila is worthless? well, considering that you werent the only one whose Monsters were nerfed they all are equal in a way.

It just makes you wonder how much more you see of the former than the latter.

In any case, I think it would've been incredibly helpful if you'd done an AMA of some kind, but hindsight is 20-20. It's not whining if it's addressing specific concerns. There's an extremely fine line. This post has been edited by cavecricket48: May 19 2013, 19:52

I meant to ask earlier, what about 100 Haths for first 10% Exp Hath Perk? It is quite calculable asset for anybody. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

I tried to pry as much information as I could from him pre-patch, some of the changes blindsided me even after we discussed them in detail and to death in the IRC.

QUOTE(cavecricket48 @ May 19 2013, 19:45) Yeah, I compared you to a company- but only one aspect of the company, their policy on patch notes. That's not how it works. A company like that has programmers who do the programming, and community guys who do the community stuff and feedback soliciting and sorting out the good suggestions from the self-serving crap. They also have internal QA who offload the work of arranging playtesting from the programmers. While there are people here who do a good job of filtering out suggestions and making a good argument for why something was a bad idea, I still need to do stuff in the way that makes best use of my time. Otherwise I'd just have to give up the entire thing.

Thats why you should abuse some of us as your workers. If you hand out the patch a day before to some of us we could have found most critical problems and lower drama to a minimum.

You don't have the number and your discussion is whining in 10B's perspective.

Lots of positive improvements, different is not worse... But there are a pair of harsh nerfs to mages (cooldown and fewer enemies hit). The cooldown is REALLY bad.
Some specific things that bothered me: Rather then deleting all Crystal of Quintessence, can they please be rerolled into some other type of crystal? Or converted equally into all the different resistance crystals? (its 1c to sell them and 10 to buy)
Shame we didn't get back 1 artifact per 1 extra AP, instead they just poofed away.
Rather then just deleting retired potions for us at a later date, how about auto selling them for credits when they are removed from game?

Abuse is a crime. Hiring someone at 2 yen a day, however, is not. Yes, Riot is far larger than you as a person will ever be, but I'm saying the way that you released information for this patch- the method- which appears to be post small tidbits in the forums and make it open season in the IRC, was seriously inadequate for something as big as this. I didn't even know this place had an IRC before you said that you pretty much discussed all this stuff on the IRC, and even then I had to go from the front page to the wiki to look it up. Okay, fine. You're the boss. But the method of conveying information about a patch as devastating as this was seriously lacking. QUOTE(radixius @ May 19 2013, 14:01) Where's the fun in that?

I can't decide weather to delete most of my monsters now. or just let them starve to death. If I knew then, what I know & the way I feel about the way Tenboro has changed the HV game. I wouldn't have sent one thin cent as a contribution. The only reason I'm still here, is because I have a vested interest in the place.
This cool down on attack spells is just plain bull shit and damned unfair to mages. Why don't you put a cool down on Melee attacks. This update is so lopsided it's pathetic.

Might as well just change the subtitle of this thread to "Lessons in Hyperbole."
