I can be playing a RPG for 40 hours and the next day drop it like it was nothing. I usually start playing again after a few months, but just for an hour or two.
I can see how some people may get over them, but I think they may be to ingrained in what my life is now that giving them up may be impossible. I usually can find something in most games that grabs my attention and with so many different platforms available, I'm bound to have a lot of things to hold me over for a while
Sometimes I get real burnt out on specific genres and need to take a break between playing them for a bit. It can ruin a great game sometimes during heavy release windows.
With the direction the industry is taking, it's very likely. Hopefully MGS and Dark Souls doesn't plan on going down that hill anytime soon like the rest of the industry.
I feel the same. I don't have the same passion I did for gaming as I did a couple years ago, I find myself drifting more towards passive hobbies live watching anime.
