Well it works damn nice for me, better then plate armor.
I don't know where you heard that it was shit for higher level palyer's?
There is a nice number of people higher then me who use leather armor.
Go ask the experts, they are the ones who told me about leather armor being better then lots of heavy armor.
The truth is I can see it too, I do better with leather armor then I was heavy. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

Leather is better than plate at higher level. But the killing speed is so slow....... so I only use it with Estoc/Longsword recently. Also, mix it with shade give bad result (poor physical defense and mid evade).

Many players ask people to aim for the best, but ignore the cost-efficient ratio. It is obvious that LEG leather of protection is better than Exq- grade of rare armor, but leather can be cheaper.

As for slow it's not that slow, but there is less of burden heavy armor you have hell of a burden.
However yes leather is lots cheaper then heavy, you can get a legendary leather whatever of protection for half the cost of the Legendary power/plate whatever of protection.

I wonder how much difference the slashing/piercing specific mitigation and the extra physical mitigation makes against the lower evade scores and added burden... argh >_< the mechanics of this game drives me nuts sometimes as you can't work things out easily based just on the numbers lol.

Between evade, parry and shadow veil, HVStat seems to think I'm hit about 25% of the time from enemy attacks... I wonder how much difference that makes in real terms lol (43.8% evade chance and 23.8% parry chance before spells - I only have a 58.5% physical mitigation before spells though)

Seriously? 200? -____- I collect way too much junk lol especially since that was mostly exquisite+ as I don't bother sending superior to you anymore unless it's ethereal or something special (with a few exceptions where I wasn't paying attention lol)
