Ok so say someone brakes into your house in the middle of the night starts taking lots of your things and has a gun see's you and pulls out his gun to kill/harm you.
What you do?
Around here that gives you all the right in man kind to blast him to hell and back.
You have the right too you are protecting yourself and what you have.
If is don't have a gun well you be more are likely fucked.
Yet a other view here is ok you all are men if he did not have a gun and say a knife are something you all can still fight him.
Now for females we really can't so hey the guy who just broke into are house has all the power.
He can take whatever he wants, rape and kill us.
ADD a gun in there and we can blast the motherfucker away.
It gives us some power to take care of the person.

Now for the other thing, not really if they have lots of heavy armor on just who the hell you trying to kill
a small army?
Most the time when you need a gun the person will have on just plain things a normal person would have on.
Also NO if every body who is in the house knows how to be safe with it and all that it never make a accident.
If there is lots of people in your house that's when you do the safe thing make it where no one can get to it and be safe with it.
If you have a gun safe or some where you can out it that no one can find it your fine.
Even if there was no guns/knifes whatever there still be crimes no matter what!
Let alone there is more deaths by things other than guns.
Look it up!

It also go's by states every start has some of there own laws on it.
The key thing is there is more people who don't need guns than there is who do and have the right.
Hell ok say there was NO GUNS they was never made ok.
There was still fuck tons of deaths by other things, bow and arrows, swords , knifes fuck it ROCKS!
bash a fuckers skull in and what not.
No matter what there is gonna be deaths, hell thugs if don't have guns will just as well use tools, a tire iron, hammer screw driver you name it.

Yes you have them people who are all guns need to be Ban but really they are fucking stupid.
That's like politicians who bitch about people in there 20's and 30's having guns but yet they forget who fucking protects there sorry ass.
Also just gonna add this I had for some time back when I was in the gun debates on here (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
[attachembed=28986]
So my WORK'S box cutter be against the law? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)
The age's around my work is 20 to 30 and almost everybody has one on them (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

I'd make it a BIG "IF". As long as there's a welfare system that works, as is the case here, nobody has a good reason to break into one's house and steal stuff. Nobody needs to be hungry or homeless etc. If you've ever been poor or homeless, you know what kind of thoughts flashes your mind...you may not act on them but it goes something like hmmm should I steal this or that? You'd rather have a good welfare system than rob somebody or get robbed. Now of course some people fall through the welfare net and you'd get homeless people etc ... that you'd expect. I'll tell you what "IF", if somebody broke into my house, which btw has never happened, I'd rather let them steal my stuff, it certainly is a much lesser crime than shooting somebody. Here everyone gets free insurance from the state if they need it so here's not really a good reason to be afraid of losing stuff. Sure people are not less aggressive here than they're anywhere else, we're all the same really. Also, the 20's and 30's are not coming back, the world was much different back then... Well, sure one can work with a box cutter here as well but one can't walk around in public with it or walk around with it if it can be proven the intent is to use it as a weapon.

While there is much to say about good welfare system, it is verifiably not true that most of property crimes are committed because otherwise perpetrator would starve. In fact, most criminals have legal income be it welfare, job or something else. It just the fact they want more.

And as aside...Sweden may be Sweden. In Russia in every police car there is AK-74. Full-auto assault carbine. But it is obviously only police who is endangered, citizens have no need for firearms, no, no ,no. </sarcasm>

Ah ye old Russian Kalashnikov 30 round magazines that fire 7.62 rounds...
Yeah there is no reason in hell why a citizen around there would ever need to feel like they needed a gun right? (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
It's not like the Kalash would fuck up there whole day even if they are hiding behind something (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
[I'm being a sarcastic smartass] (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

AK-74 I said. To be precise [en.wikipedia.org] AKS-74U. It's 5.45mm.
Old 7.62x39 mm round is no longer used by military or police. On the other hand, while AK-74 is issued with 30-round mag everyone and his dog have a habit using it with 45-round mag from RPK (yes, even police).

Well I should have said every police PATROL car. I don't think detectives are carrying it. But patrol cars, including Road Inspection is still no less than 75 % of all police vehicles

It depends of course what kind of box cutter it is. If it's just some tiny piece of shit I'm pretty sure nobody would give a monkeys...

Oh so they go for the take up less room, can be short and compact one.
(IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Now I did not know that, the 7.62 round is like the 223 round it's so common it's not funny.
Most Ak's you see fire the 7.62 i did not know the Russian's shit can that round and moved to a other.
Might be why at one time people can have got Russian 7.62x39 mm round's for dirt cheap prices.
I still have a Russian SKS that fires the 7.62 just a bitch to find the ammo now (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Damn so they really want them 15 rounds more (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

It's the same length - 39mm. But thinner and lighter. Cartridge was designed in 70s. Army started to remove 7.62 cartridge from service in 1990s. And police AFAIK was armed with carbines in 1990s so it was small-caliber from the get-go.

Hmmm, well if you really want to know the details, here the particular law I'm talking about, it's named Knivlagen (translation: the knife-law)

[www.riksdagen.se] http://www.riksdagen.se/sv/Dokument-Lagar/...4/?bet=1988:254

It's in swedish but if you want I can translate it for you. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Knivlagen (translation: the knife-law)

I see you Swedes do not not spend time to make fancy names for laws. In Russia it would probably be called a Law about Knives ( actual legislation is even more generic Law about Weapons which regulates everything). And in USA something like Act about Bearing Cutting Devices. I will never understand why on earth there so many American laws with titles obliviously chosen to form a good-sounding abbreviation.

I see what I can do to read it (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
(IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
It did look like this!

wow the translation is almost really good.

I'll correct it a little bit

1 § Knives, other pierce- or slash- weapons and other items that are intended to be used as weapons in crimes against life or health may not be held in public, in a school area where primary or secondary education is carried out, or in a vehicle in a public place.

The prohibition in the first paragraph does not apply if the item according to specific provisions are included in equipment for particular service or a particular assignment or if the posession otherwise with respect to the item's nature, the posesser's needs and other circumstances are considered to be justified.

Pierceweapons or knives that are designed so that the circle or blade can be quickly drawn or pushed out of it's shaft (spring stilettos or switchblades) may not be held by persons under 21. Law (2000:148) .

2 § brass knuckles, throwing stars or other such items which are especially suitable for use as weapons in crimes against life and health, as well as running stilettos or switchblades may not be transferred to anyone under 21 years of age or be offered for sale. Law (1990:413) .

§ 3 In the case of weapons and other items such as the weaponlaw (1996:67) applies on the provisions there instead of this law. Law (1996:69) .

§ 4 Whoever willfully or negligently violates § 1 or 2 shall be sentenced to a fine or imprisonment not exceeding six months. In minor cases sentencing is not carried out.

If the offense is serious, the sentencing is imprisonment not exceeding one year. Law(2000:148) .

5 § Knives or other objects that have been held in violation of § 1 or that have been transferred or held for sale in violation of § 2 shall be confiscated, unless it is clearly unreasonable. Law (1990:413).

Well, everyday Russian speech is definitely more laconic than many others, but half of it is language itself.
You see, in Russian there aren't any articles (and never was) and very little copulas. Also much less prepostions - instead we change the word : " topor " - axe, "toporom" - with axe, "toporu" - to axe ;that kind of thing.
