I also see current complaints about cash advance fees with Bitstamp. Their admins respond publicly and these threads are getting deleted, but their support staff ignores users who contact them normally, as I did.

After five phone calls to my Capital One credit card company, I was unable to get them to waive their fee. Their customer service agents gave me differing reasons why the cash advance fee was charged, and why they could not remove it.

I may try something heavy-handed against Bitstamp next, I don't think it should affect anything here. Thanks for the donation credit. I'll have to wait to use it until I can figure out a good way to continue donating. My $20 donation was exchanged for credits and became someone else's bronze star.

There are currently a few states that have enacted legislation to block bitcoin exchanges. Coinbase does not allow us to register. We might be forced to use foreign exchanges to obtain cryptocurrency online.

Have you considered [localbitcoins.com] LocalBitcoins (it's linked in 10B's initial post for this topic)? I've never used them personally, but they've been around for ages. You can do in-person hand-to-hand transactions through it, so your state can't really ban that. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

My state doesn't have a problem with bitcoin, so Coinbase works well for me. I also coincidentally have a Capital One credit card and have linked it to my Coinbase account, but it's only there for backup/verification purposes; I use a direct bank draft for actual transactions.

If you can't find a way to buy bitcoin on your own, I'd be willing to be an intermediary between you and E-H.
You can PayPal me the money (or whatever way you want to get it me) and I can deposit it in my Coinbase account and send the bitcoin to your E-H wallet.
I won't charge any extra fees myself, but whatever PayPal/Coinbase/whatever charges won't come out of my pocket.

wow, what a journey

HV introduced me to bitcoin, via donation paths

so glad I kept my bitcoin instead of donating, I stalled on $200

who knows where it will all go

Hey guys, I have a question that's probably been answered before.

Is it possible to withdraw BTC from the E-Hentai wallet (send it to another address)?

Thanks.

E-H wallets are 1-way only, you cannot retrieve anything from them.

Addendum:
QUOTE(Tenboro @ Dec 7 2017, 10:21) *
Only if you make a wrong deposit. Even then, because of AML laws I will only return a specific transaction, so this can only be done if you haven't applied it and if you contact me within 24 hours. Looking at your transactions, the most recent one is over a year old.

From the "more information" thread:
QUOTE
Note that it is not possible to transfer coins out from this wallet, so make sure to not send more than you want to donate.

Formally, the actual donation is made in BTC at the time it is included in a block, and is equal to the transaction's output to your E-Hentai wallet. All donations are final, and refunds of applied donations or any remaining balance will not be granted - no exceptions. The actual coins have likely been spent on servers already, and the balance displayed on your account does not generally represent actual BTC in the site's wallet.

If you make a wrong deposit, do not apply it and contact me via PM no later than 24 hours after the first confirmation.
It is possible to dispute a single transaction within 24 hours of the deposit if you haven't applied it. You must contact Tenboro within those 24 hours, per his own words - and prevent the [en.wikipedia.org] AML article in question from kicking in as that would otherwise be seen as a possible attempt at money laundering.

In other words, if you made a mistake, be quick to act to cancel the transaction.

Around 140-150 sat/byte is enough right now for confirmations within 2-3 hours, but yeah, it's been getting out of hand the last couple of weeks.

For lower fees, we already accept several alts manually (including BCH and ETH), and unless the BTC fee situation improves significantly very soon, I'll probably integrate at least the former into the site directly.

Yeah, I had no idea, that was freaking shocking......I looked and last month it was 1.99 and this month it was like 13 or 14 bucks for the same amount (yeah, it's showing in btc-ese right now, .00008 whatever (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ) but yeah, 40 bucks and it would only let me send I think 22 (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Holy crap, I'm laughing at it now, but yeah, wow >_<

I assume you were using Coinbase, and I can tell because the transaction is stupid and bad. You should open a ticket and tell them to implement Segwit and transaction batching, which would make their network fees be ~10% of what they are today, even with the overbidding.

Yes, coinbase......let me look again and see if I can figure out how, I looked last night to see if I could find somebody / figure out how to bitch but didn't have any luck figuring out how to do it >_<

Yeah, I looked again just to figure it out, came to just under a 50% fee of the total I bought.

With all the shit I had to deal with today because retards can't even deal with regular fiscality paperwork, prepare for a serious Armageddon when everything gets digitalized. Not touching cryptocoins ever again, world is too dumb for a very long term implementation to exist.

(And that shit's at nearly $20k now? Wow. If it does crash, I'll give everyone free popcorn.)

I won't lie, I'd been seeing the rise.........what, like in the range of quadrupling within a 30 day period...? Yeah, that's got the feel of lots of people jumping from high places if even something small goes wrong (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Is there something wrong with donation page? I cannot seem to be able to donate or buy server slots. Cannot click anything on donate or server slots option i.e; donation amount, apply donation, slots amount, slots duration, apply slots.

One of the files on live wasn't quite the newest version, so it was still using the old safe mode trigger levels. Should be fixed now.

I just did the same thing...WTF Coinbase. Thank god I buy in bigger money blocks so as a percent of my total donation it's not losing nearly half (you have my condolences).

Not only that but I was gonna try use BCH since Coinbase finally allowed buying it, only to see they had to suspend it in less than few hours after implementation because of possible insider trading...>.> Guess I'll wait to see if it can restabilize and actually make purchases. :P

Why are these recent Coinbase fees so high? Are they just as high on other BTC exchanges now? This sounds like something different from the unexpected cash advance fee I experienced on the credit card side of the transaction.

I'll probably try a bank transfer to Bitstamp as my next attempt at donating, not sure how that works since they are in a foreign country. Do they have a US bank account?

Coinbase fees are that high for three reasons:

- BTC network fees are at an all-time high in general
- Coinbase does not batch withdrawal transactions (= ~75-80% cheaper transactions)
- Coinbase does not use Segwit yet (= ~30% cheaper transactions)

If you are buying just to donate, I recommend you wait a bit until they fully enable BCH buying, then just use that.

For EU they use the SWIFT network, but from the US I believe it would be a standard international wire transfer.

Thanks for that info, I will wait till BCH is fully functional on Coinbase again.

/Sigh, all I want to do is be like Fry from Futurama for the site...
