QUOTE(Ichigo-Neko @ May 1 2016, 13:41) and how can I transfer them into an other wallet? By signing with your private key the public key of the destination valet hashed with the value being sent. If that is too complex go to the bitcoin wiki and use one of the thousand tools that are listed there: [ en.bitcoinwiki.org] this part might be the most useful

Most wallet software has function to sweep (i.e., transfer) Bitcoins from a paper wallet, or just import the private key directly. Electrum and Multibit comes to mind. It's safe, assuming you don't have any malware on your computer.

For those that use or are looking at Coinbase as an option, they just added a new feature with instant buys via a debit card. However, there are some drawbacks as an upload of a photo ID is required, and the fee for debit card purchases is higher at 3.5% I believe versus the 1% for bank withdraws.

Try using [ bitcoin.stackexchange.com] these instructions. For future reference, assuming that the ATM supports scanning QR codes (which I believe all of them do), there are two much easier ways to do this. The very simple way is to just open the donation page on your phone or save the PNG of your QR code on it, and let the ATM scan it, so it can send it there directly. Obviously only use this if you wanted to donate the full amount. The slightly more complex way is installing the Bitcoin Wallet app on your phone, then let the ATM scan the QR code for an address you generated yourself, rather than let it generate and print one. Then you can just scan the QR code on the site with your phone to pass it on. (I'm actually going to do a quick writeup in the OP on using ATMs.)

But didn't wanted to go with empty hands home since I travelled a good time to get there (like I said they are pretty rare here)

I find bitcoins somewhat confusing no matter how much I read about them, I happen to have a bitcoin ATM not too far from where I live and you have cleared up just what I was wondering about them, whether you could simply show it your own donation page and have the coins sent. So if I ever get a smartphone, this seems a very simple option. I had thought that you had to send the coins from the atm to a sort of holding location before they could be moved to where you wanted. Definetly something to keep in mind.

Really? Like directly with a credit card? I know they will allow you to add one for verification purposes and for backup in case your bank transfer fails. At least, that's how it is for me. I can't buy them directly, and I probably wouldn't want to. Some credit card providers consider that a cash advance, and the fees on those are outrageous.

UPDATE: Coinbase recently enabled instant-buys with credit cards! You can also use PayPal, but only for selling Bitcoins. They only take Visa and MasterCard networks, and the fee for a credit card purchase is 3.75% (same as as debit card). For those of you on the fence over not being able to use credit cards, here's your chance! However, when signing up for these options, and I might've mentioned this earlier, you'll need to verify your identity. It'll want to take a snapshot of either a Diver's License or ID Card. It's kinda picky with visibility and contrast, but once it takes, it's pretty simple. Coinbase will place verification charges on the card like they do with bank accounts. It took me only a few minutes to get mine added.

QUOTE(Maximum_Joe @ Jul 28 2016, 14:44) Poor startup * couldflare using the new US IP ranges (no geoip, cheapest IP avaiabel) * using modernizr.js but not using its autoload features for other scripts * 50% of the entire website are anit-clickjacking scripts (doooooooodgy) * poor use of html5, seriously they start <header> and never finish it My opinion: written by 3 programmers straight from the uni using some fancy cloudflare "easy-website" tool and hammering an API into it. Poor security, I would not give my bank details there. Poorly designed startup, will fail as soon as the grant ends. If you use it do not keep any money in there for long. (sorry for the bad impression in there, but i saw too many poorly made startups recently) This post has been edited by blue penguin: Jul 28 2016, 17:42

I'm having trouble donating. I click on Apply Donation but the bitcoin amount in my wallet doesn't decrease. It stays the same.

I figured it out. Thanks. I was donating the bitcoin amount instead of the dollar amount.

What site would one suggest to get bitcoins in Europe that wont require something ludicrous as demanding a copy of my ID just to use their service like Coinbase.
I rather crush my balls in a vise and set them on fire than upload a copy of my ID on the internet. Not to mention that its forbidden by law to make copies of documents like an ID over here.
