QUOTE(The Evil Phoenix @ Oct 19 2014, 01:20) They are still in Beta, Tenb. I checked with the rest of the Bitcoin community on IRC and the people who've actually used it a bit more, and they've had a lot of bugs with the site - things not being processed correctly, mischarges, and other issues with the site functionality. I'd be very careful using their site, though, for a while, but I'm paranoid about security, so you can disregard my warning if you really want to just use their services. My warning stems from a cipherscan which indicates that they use weak TLS and some pretty weak SSL protocols/ciphers. (For the techies out there who care about why i'm warning about this, take a peek at the output from cipherscan on this, [ gist.github.com] at this gist containing the output from the scan program.) They probably have those cipher suits for compatibility with old browsers and at least they support the good ones too

Better thing is that they support server side ordering - that probably means that, like my sites, they try strong ciphers first. The good news is they disabled SSLv3 and avoid the POODLE attack, bad news, only XP with IE8 and later will work, anyone with anything older is screwed.

Is there any service out there that will be kind of like the middle man between you and the merchant? It would be nice if I could just pay in dollars and it would be converted to bitcoins and sent to you guys, without me having to really deal with bitcoins in the process.

You could consider the work involved in the process of learning bitcoins part of the donation. Not that learning how to use them will do you any harm.

Is the e-hentai wallet incompatible with things like bitchest.me and faucets and others ways to get free bitcoins? I don't know if it's just slow, or if there really is a need to have a separate wallet to get something from those sites and only then transfer it on the e-hentai wallet.

Your EH wallet only accepts transfer 'To'; you won't be able to send any BTCs from that wallet address. It's best just to have SECURE separate wallet(s) to transfer monies around, then send to the EH wallet for donation. Hope that answers your question.

As long as the account functions like a Bitcoin Wallet (which I assume it does...the site has to put those Bitcoins somewhere when you buy them) then it'll work. I've transferred funds directly from Coinbase to here without a problem. It's actually better to be direct. It cuts down on wait time and on fees.

As for this question, it really depends on which country you are in. Oftentimes you can purchase the Bitcoins and have them sent directly to your E-Hentai wallet instead of your own, but as treesloth pointed out funds can only go into that wallet. You can't get them back out. There are brokers that deal with Bitcoins, banks where you can go in and use cash, Bitcoin atms, and a variety of options dealing with local markets. In fact, you would pretty much have to look into other options if you are not in North America as Coinbase and Circle primarily services the USA. There are a bunch of options listed [ en.bitcoin.it] here. I'm not clear on what you mean with not dealing with bitcoins. I can't think of a safe or logical way for you to hand off your money to someone without giving them any direction on what should be done with it and expect for the funds to ultimately arrive in your Bitcoin wallet. I can at least reassure you that dealing with them isn't as complex as it sounds. It's like dealing with a currency exchange if you've ever had to use a different currency before. Don't really want to start new thread about this so decided to post here as it is connected to Donating. I would like to request Auto Hide-inactive/expired Adopt-a-server slots on Donation screen. Unless it will contract at some stage (10000? 100000? 1M? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) ) why it is relevant to display expired slots in a long, long, <-----so long -----> very, very long list.

I'll add it to my list.

Well, I just bought and donated another $10 from Circle as another test. So far I haven't gotten an email saying they screwed up by bank transfer, and that was four days ago when I made the purchase/donation, whereas the first run through they sent me an email only hours after I sent the money out. The debit still hasn't shown up on my bank account yet, so no complaints there.

Do you need to provide photo ID for buying BTCs by credit card through Circle? They emailed me for that but I've been lazy.

Don't know. Never bothered with using a card. I just have them take straight from my bank account (although like I said, the actual withdraw is delayed). I figured there's a good chance I'm gonna hit some fees if I use credit, whereas bank account withdraws are fee-less. I'd imagine if they're trying to be very secure about purchases, Circle would want some sort extra proof of identification, as buying BTC via credit is a pretty risky endeavor.

Argh. Australia was good for buying bitcoins with plenty of services but now its a bit rooted. They have to pay gst now which means;
Exchange rate + fees + gst. dayum. Maybe Virwox will be cheaper for me now.
edit: Its the same cost atm. Yaya! Bitcoins in Australia are so expensive now. Thanks ATO.

The trick to virwox is probably buying enough to get the fee discount. Getting a 20-30% discount on the fees (30 days) isn't too hard if you are purchasing a decent volume.

I feel ya. Everything down here is bloody expensive. Doesn't help that finding a job can be a prick.

Yes you do. They need identification because they're technically a MSB.

It's done, I did my donation. I noticed that I got the hath perks More Pages, Lots of Pages and Too Many Pages thanks to that, but those names are not mentioned in http://ehwiki.org/wiki/donations . I'm not sure how those are unlocked as you progress since I did everything at once, but it's worth checking to fix it some day.

It is from the gallery patch 0.302: QUOTE(Tenboro @ Jul 26 2014, 19:39) - Similarly, the hath perks and donation level bonus for number of images loaded outside H@H now also overlap. (This is really less relevant today, since ~98% of all images are served by H@H.) Tenboro is vague as always but I added to the wiki my best guess: Bronze: More Pages Silver: Lots of Pages Gold: Too Many Pages If anyone could confirm it that'd be awesome.
