QUOTE(jacksy @ Sep 30 2013, 18:07) I has bitcoins sittin in a wallet, but can't send them...cause my pm for an address's not getting answered! Anyone pm ten recently know how long its took?
Also if anyone knows if i donate wallet to wallet does it still add 10% to the donated amount? or is it only if i go through mtgox?
Tenboro's a busy guy. He's the (only?) admin of this site, and so PMs are just not gonna be a high priority since they require a lot of time and effort to sift through. Just wait...he'll get around to it...eventually... As for your question on the trade-off of money you actually donated, it depends when and where you got your bitcoins and when and where you're donating them to Tenboro. I personally bought bitcoins via Coinbase, and I think their exchange rate always differs (so far in my favor) from the exchange rate on Mt. Gox (probably why donating to them from Coinbase never worked... (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) ) So, long story short, I donated more money than I spent (about ten dollars, but I'm a Gold Star so...)

Not without knowing... (1) how many bitcoins you're trying to send, (2) how many bitcoins are actually in all your addresses on that account, (3) the TX fee MtGox is going to charge you (usually a percentage of how much you're sending, with a restriction on the minimum amount of BTC you need to send in order for it to actually send. QUOTE(jacksy @ Oct 1 2013, 01:06) [attachmentid=30714] I guess you are sending exactly all coins on the account, to the last accuracy digit. But you need to have 0.0005 BTC for the transaction fee of the transaction at hand, that's why is complaining that there's not enough coins. Leave 0.0005 BTC (or 0.0006 BTC just in case of fluctuation of floating point rounding) on the account and see what happens.

Ok i am posting another pic this one has the amount i guess it doesn't matter if i show the amount. Amount available on my MtGox acc is 1.50260000 BTC At an exchange rate of the current weighted average there will be some left over btc. my question is doesn't mtgox take directly from available balance when i press the pay now button? The text in this pic seems to say that i should send the btc to that address listed there and then they detect when there are enough confirmations. I don't wana send my bitcoins to some random address and into a black hole as btc transfers are permanent. Luck gods seem to have stricken me right as i chose to donate today when all the server issues seem to happen keepin' tenb busy not being able to answer my pm...i would have done a wallet to wallet transfer...much easier sigh I now cancelled that one and m doing another one but in this one i get kicked back to login screen after pressing the green Pay Now button from available balance... about 24 tries now getting bored (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) This post has been edited by jacksy: Oct 1 2013, 03:01

I wonder if it's a bug in mtgox... I'd offer to let you do a test send of the smallest possible amount of bitcoins to one of my addresses and send back, but... I don't have enough to both return your BTC and cover both tx fees (because i have a 0 balance of bitcoins in all of my 95 bitcoin addresses)

jacksy, you already donated through direct wallet transfer once, yup? It might be wise to wait (even a couple of days) for a reply PM from Tenboro. I imagine that he is excessivelly busy with a strange issue happening in HV, as well as he is pissed with people (cough like me cough) complaining and making fun of the new HV's cassandra DB in the Hentai Verse threads.

If you're waiting for a bitcoin address from him, you may be waiting DAYS for him to get to your privmsg in the stack of messages he has This post has been edited by The Evil Phoenix: Oct 1 2013, 03:36

Anywhere between days and weeks. He took about 5 days to respond to resend me the address I send to, because I accidentally erased the address when I pruned my privmsgs, but... still. It takes A WHILE to get a response.

@indarain,
try localbitcoins, they use escrow. I got my coins on the same day, although it takes a long time for Tenboro to confirm payment

Yea got my coins on localbitcoins yesterday, through bank deposit. I deposited the money at bank of america and the seller released the coins in escrow at localbitcoins. Might be a lil harder to find someone to trade with in beijing tho, i see a few listed sellers but only 1 with 30+ confirmed transactions (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif).

Careful when using Local Bit Coins, they've had a streak of hacks lately, so don't immediately trust your bitcoins to there...

they were out of that account about 35 mins after they got in so ( took 5 times longer to do my research who to trade with and what to do right after before doing the actual trade)
traded with a person that had 100+ positive confirmed trades looked to be around 455 confirmed trades and he didn't even require me to send picture proof that i deposited he saw the deposit in his account.
Do make sure you do your research before any financial transaction like i said i researched who and what to expect and do for a pretty long time yesterday before deciding to and who to do it with.

What The Evil Phoenix said is true. So for my case, I send Tenboro an address request and start researching on trustworthy bitcoins buyer at the same time. Sites like coinbase and MtGox are secure, but I prefer not to prepare my passport and stuff like I am passing through the customs just for a donation. I also prefer to have a choice of choosing the currencies I like and the way of payment I like, without a high fee. I get a 'thank you and hope to be trading with you again' message too. Now that's the way I like it!
