QUOTE(six_syllables @ Jun 7 2013, 12:13) i don't see what the problem would be cause i've always donated through other sites in the past using paypal.
By this logic PayPal must always work on every site ever.

virtually every other site i've donated to, yes. . . (and many of them very similar to this) in fact, can you even name any other donation sites (including sites with pornographic content) that use "bit coins? in my experience, it was always either paypal or some sites even have direct debit/credit card transactions. The bitcoin thing is certainly "new" for me, and unfortunately i don't think it's going to work out. . . This post has been edited by six_syllables: Jun 8 2013, 22:10

With porn: TPB, Empornium, Motherless (which, for the record, is full of child porn shit), probably many others (I'm not a connoisseur of porn sites) Without porn: [ en.bitcoin.it] take your pick?

hmm. . . . . that's certainly more than i would have guessed, but how many such sites exist all-together do you think? you've named three out of what, maybe hundreds. . . ? QUOTE(tiap @ Jun 8 2013, 15:18) Without porn: [ en.bitcoin.it] take your pick?that's quite a bit, but i would still consider the ratio of sites that don't use it. In any case, the "bit coin" thing was new for me and most likely several others. I didn't know about it until this site. I think it's at least fair to say it isn't too common. . . (BTW i think this is getting off topic, so anyone who wants to further discuss it, PM me or something. . .) This post has been edited by six_syllables: Jun 8 2013, 23:53

Welp now that I've leached for years its time to get a gold star. As soon as I figure out how to actually turn my money into bitcoins... which is apparently a tremendous pain.
Suggestions? Located in the US.

I actually already read through that, I was more wondering if anyone had a good personal experience with anything?

It's usually dealing with the bank on your end that's the hard part.

Use Coinbase.com. They are based in California. They still require a bank account to be linked, but it's real easy (takes a day or two, but easy compared to MtGox) Bitcoins do take a while to purchase with them though...five business days I believe. The fees are small as well. (I technically could've wired money to MtGox, but that would've caused me to incur a $50 fee for wiring money internationally...not gonna happen)

I will just leave this here: [ www.weusecoins.com] http://www.weusecoins.com/en/It's one of the best video explanations about bitcoins. It is also available in japanase (/ja/), german (/de/), and french (/fr/). It shall cover most languages people use on the website (there's no chinese unfortunatelly).

I agree with you. I want to donate as well, but this bitcoin thing is seriously throwing me off big time. I hope that something simple like paypal will be implemented soon.

So I just redeposited the money from Dwolla that finally was withdrawn from my bank account because I see that BitInstant has gotten rid of the option to use Dwolla, or at least as far as I can see they have. I had planned to use BitInstant and Dwolla to get the funds onto MtGox, but that's a no go now. I'll have to find another way, so the journey continues.

You don't necessarily have to use MtGox. I didn't. As long as Dwolla uses an address (or can use an address) to make payments, you're golden. If they tell you when the payments clear on their site, that's even better (Dwolla that is). See, when I did a test donation of $1 from Coinbase (BTW, thank you whoever posted about that...I'll find you and quote you in a sec), Coinbase's transaction list showed it as Pending and said it would clear in an hour. See, the donation page E-Hentai redirects you to did NOT refresh for me. Once the payment cleared, I refreshed the page and presto, it said the payment was accepted. Now, since there has to be two ends on this transaction that sorta have to "speak" to each other (for lack of a better term) the payments on each end HAVE to match. Meaning, the amount you say you will donate MUST be the amount you send to the address. You put in your address on the Bitcoin payment page you get redirected to, and then you put in the address you're given to Dwolla (given that the site even supports this) and hence how the ends of the transaction "speak" to each other. Hope this all makes sense...I'm a little lousy at explaining things...

How do I directly donate from Asian/Oceanic Countries ? There's no channel to donate through Bitcoins here. I guess it's all for US/European countries/some developed Asia countries like Japan....

Donating is the easy part, getting BTC is the hard part.
