Hi All,

Not sure how to get this to Tenboro, but it'd be great to mention in the wiki that Bitstamp now charges a $15 transaction fee withdrawing into a Bitcoin wallet. This means that if you want to donate $100 to HV, you need to have $115 in Bitcoin because Bitstamp takes $15 before it even gets sent.

I will end up having to spend $130 in total, because the first Bitstamp transaction only applied $85 to HV, so I have to spend another $30 to get $15 more to HV since $15 goes to another Bitstamp transaction fee.

Bitstamp also requires a 7 business day holding period, so don't try to convert your ACH deposit to Bitcoin immediately; you won't be able to withdraw immediately.

I changed the wiki a bit, since they aren't affiliated and there's not really any control of any of their fees or policies. That list hasn't changed in ages. Though it may be less to do with the site, and more just how much you have to pay to have BTC transfer in a reasonable time now.

Bitcoin cash (bch) usually has a much smaller fee (unless things have changed recently), and likely to process quicker, compared to btc. Site accepts it https://e-hentai.org/bitcoin.php?coin=BCH

Kraken last I used it the other year was costing me something like 0.20 on the transaction for bch, but that's mostly vague memory and some time has passed.

Yeah, like Shank says you generally want to use BCH for exchange withdrawals whenever possible. Bitstamp does support BCH and only charges a 0.0001 BCH withdrawal fee, which would be 2-3 cents.

You are just donating, not paying for a subscription/service, so you don't need to worry about that, the benefits are just a bonus and last for so long as the site does. If you use them all up, they'll just recover after some time and you get free ones again. Your free limit is based on a sliding window of 1 week, so if in that period you only used 2gb, you'll have 3gb left, and if you wait a while, that'll increase back to 5gb as the window slides forward and the used downloads were from more than 168 hours ago.

Hey all, I miscalculated transaction fees with bitcoin and I'm $0.03 USD short of $50 for silver star, do I just have sit and wait until transaction fees lower enough or wait for conversion rate here to lower? Really sucks, was looking forward to source nexus.

If your BTC is still on an exchange you could swap it for BCH and pay a much lower transaction fee. (Barring any trade fees of course.)

Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely be using BCH in the future. This is the first time I've used crypto, and was using Coin Wallet as my wallet, however I figured out that my problem was that Coin Wallet was using a fee of 41.39sat/vB. I didn't even know you could change the fee, haha. I used a way lower fee using electrum and the transaction went through!

You need to redeem it.

Make sure to click the correct 'tab' either Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash depending on which wallet you used.

You should see a section with 'Available To Apply: ?.???? BTC'

Apply BTC as Donation
Enter the amount of the available donation you made, in your case $50 then click 'Apply Donation'.
The text will go red if you choose a donation amount higher than the amount of BTC available.

I haven't been dealing with cryptocurrency lately but every couple years or so I look around at the current state of things.

I looked for several virtual currency exchanges on the internet, but they all asked me to provide my ID for authentication. This makes me uneasy. I don't really want to give out my ID information to people. Are there any exchanges where you can buy BCH anonymously?

Due to the state that I live in, I am banned from most cryptocurrency exchange sites. The only ones that I might be able to use, or have used in the past before I was banned (Bitstamp), all require me to submit pictures of my face and stuff to ID me (I think I tried submitting strange fake pictures and it didn't work, but I forget, plus they might just steal all your money).

With the replies that you got, it seems that most other places in the world can still use cryptocurrency without having to take naked pictures of yourself your face.

But presuming you must take these pictures of your face and provide your identity to these organizations, what is the benefit of cryptocurrency? It's not anonymous at all, right? In fact, could it be far less anonymous than PayPal or anything else?

(Well, at least Tenboro or whoever I send bitcoins to, won't get to know my name, I guess? If I use PayPal then Tenboro gets to know my e-mail address. But if they wanted to, they could send Tenboro my naked pictures!)

The benefit is that as long as you practice the "not your keys, not your coins" philosophy, no one can shut down your account and take your money, no one can ban you from receiving money, and no one can ban you from sending money to whoever the fuck you want.
