This 50% regen is amazing. You all have to try it out 0_o .
IA stopped costing me MP. I save so much on MP potions. (I only have IA2 though so I still lose a little bit but not every turn. I'd probably recover MP instead if I had IA5.
And combat is so much faster since i don't spend as many turns recovering mp.

Or you could save up for the Rainbow Aura... it'll only take 1.37 years if your only hath income is from your Star. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Alternative: Switch to mage. I make mana, I just spend it on spells too quickly for it to be noticeable, unless I'm grinding mana using ET. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Oh, if I switch to mage mode, I do make mana each turn. However, I'm sticking with melee right now cus i don't want mage to get too badly nerfed XD . My build is a fairly special build still. I've just altered it a bit for heavy melee. Really, my build hasn't changed, I've just started wearing heavy armor and holding a scythe. QUOTE You currently have 482.5 Hath.
Only 17,5 hath to go... but I am starting to doubt if it's really going to be worth it.

Tenboro balance logic joke: CODE <bunqa_busta> i hope he doesn't parse stats as <bunqa_busta> "on average, counting 89685 level 30 players that have nothing along with the bulk of level 100-400 players, light/DW is still being used the most therefore it is the best" <SkillChip> why do you hope he doesnt parse stats? <SkillChip> lol <bunqa_busta> no i mean he parses stats like that <SkillChip> i think he narrows it down to levels <SkillChip> but thats me hoping <bunqa_busta> nope <bunqa_busta> if he did he'd actually look at glaring balance issues <bunqa_busta> like light armor

Except we know damn well he parses them into levels. That's how he justifies not buffing mage. Not sure how much further parsing (like current actives vs. dead accounts), but if you hunt through his posts you'll find reference to mage being the most popular at level X and up.

Mages received 2 pretty big buffs this patch: Protection changes and monster damage reduction. I can actually survive on IWBTH now (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

As a rule, when I'm looking at equipment usage distributions, I examine 100-200, 200-300 and 300+, limited to accounts that played during the last week.

I can actually survive on IWBTH now (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) I was just remembering the post I was talking about being a direct response to someone asking for a mage buff of some sort (almost certainly anti-resist). I can't comment on most of the patch too much since I've been on semi-hiatus for the past few weeks. So, the Protection spell now doing the same as the old Scrolls (which I definitely made good use of in the past) is something I haven't tried out (the scrolls were good though, so if I can support yet another buff it's getting added). The one thing I can definitely comment on is randomized initiative, which is decidedly one of those 'Everything turned out better than expected' moments. So long as you open with Spark so you don't loldie before you can buff, anyway, it cuts down on the mass swings even though it does kill the option of T3->unopposed T1-> T3. Of course, now I'm wondering what granularity of parsing he uses, like seeing what quality gear the average player is rocking, how much forging is going on, or the split between Elemental and Holy/Dark mages, or Ethereal weapons vs. Hollowforged Elemental/vanilla, etc. This post has been edited by PK678353: Mar 2 2013, 13:22

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Mar 1 2013, 22:44) It does.
Something come into my mind: 1. Will you reset forge exp this time? I assume no, as current salvaging only saves 0-75% bindings comparing to new salvaging (if salvaging is used to crunch forge exp). And bindings were the blocking factor to crunch forge exp. 2. Maybe keep current salvaging or introduce a "destroy" function. Sometimes we simply want to get rid of something (forged), and want to eliminate the chance that someone picked up it from bazaar. Or for anyone to crunch for forge exp, new salvaging will waste his time by a factor of 5.

(IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Actually tell you what, can you make a page where we can see these things? It'll calculate every day or month or week, and cache it for the whole week. You'll only get the cached version, for more security. How about it, Tenbo (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Note that this is only due to curiousity, not e-peen or anything else (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) This post has been edited by ChosenUno: Mar 2 2013, 14:30

I use it as an overall guideline for how to make balance tweaks, but I don't want people to take it as gospel truth and add on "but 5% fewer/more people are using this!" or "why did you nerf that!? more people are using this!" to discussions every time I change something.

Ok, everyone, for the next month we only use light armor of negation and only exquisite or magnificent. And we all agree to use one weapon type of a specific suffix that nobody wants to use anyways. Just to see what Tenboro would do if he didn't have a variety of player feedback ;P /jokes

However there is a huge latency, as well as resistance to set up or swap builds. This post has been edited by HTTP/308: Mar 2 2013, 15:08

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Mar 2 2013, 13:16) Haven't added anything for forging yet, but.. Are you counting equipments that are actively used, or just equipment that is equipped in a set? Because I, for example, have a set of shade armor equipped in a set, but one that I haven't used in a very long time, other than for the occasional experiment with stats. Same things goes for some other equipment sets. Or are you counting only one set for each player, and then the set which they use the most? It's a pretty big difference there. Especially since if you count equipped items in sets, then I'm a using all types of armor and all types of fighting styles (excepting niten ichiryu, since I don't have any good katana/wakizashi).

So is there anything on the player side that can be done about these random resists?
literally doubles time requirements for all battles...
before: normal - 1 spell = all dead. now: 1 spell = all dead except 1. 90% of the time... in my last
I mean I routinely get 2-3 consecutive resist in a row casting weaken/imperil... and there are times where it happens multiple times in 1 battle...
should i boost spell acc?

They're not random. TenB assures us that he hasn't changed the mechanics, so it's most likely a result of a few thousand Chaos Tokens pumped into these mobs post-patch to make them really annoying. 1. Use Focus. You will not like it if all the mobs hit you that round, though. 2. Find a good Staff with Counter-resist. It won't help *much*, but it will help. 3. Get gear that boosts your casting speed. Sure, they'll resist, but the rest won't be having you for breakfast while you break down their resistance with repeated casts.
