Nope. I can't see how you did so well. My trials with light made me feel like I was Maging with Cloth. At first Fleet Shade with 45% Evade worked ok, but then I ran into multiple "can't touch me" power mobs and all of the evade and resist that I had sure didn't work reliably. But I haven't been a light melee player since Mace got nerfed big time a while back. Despite the fact that I have better Light armor overall than my Phase and Power Armor (although my Fire Mage set is pretty good), since I put a lot of money into Protection Kevlar and later Arcanist and Shadowdancer Shade. Getting back to @H Heavy, my heavy set includes a Battlecaster weapon to help offset the Mana cost, and it's got good stats for such to boot. It worked well up until the patch. No, it wasn't perfect, but it was a much better balance of mana consumption vs protection against mobs than what HV is now. - JC

I guess that's true, sorry. But I really wouldn't mind getting rid of burden of staves. Then disable the ethereal prefix for them and increase the probability of an elemental strike instead (and if possible, only allow the ones that fit the type of staff, i.e. demonic/hallowed on Katalox; hallowed, fiery and arctic on oak etc.)

F logic, why don't we just reverse crit and evade loss for burden? make crit loss happen first and evade loss happen second. There, now agility will still be (somewhat) useful for heavy armor.
Edit: Clarified what 'it' was refering to.

That's not really an advantage, it is easily negated by the tenth potency (and anyone over level 200 can easily item world their weapon). Ethereal's main advantage is the no burden/interference, I don't know about you but I like having rare weapon classes, it makes it cooler when you actually do get one. The best idea was to move the crit penalty back by 10-15 burden. That would make elemental easily useable by all but the most burden heavy set-ups (which shouldn't have awesome crit anyway, imo).

Crit is not the problem. Featherweight is highly available: why not use them? It's only 1-2 feather to fully restore crit for 5xPower + elem 2H.

Featherweight is better for people who play all at once.

Someone just dumped an FINE AGILE SHADE BREASTPLATE with 3PABs in the bazaar better than my current one... clicked buy and prayed that 11k snipe is going to work... then the usual happed: "Item not found"... The Jews have a nice phrase for this: "Man thinks, God laughs."

The equipment drop has been reduced over the past few updates, but I can't seem to find the mention of it in any of the updates. I get half as many drops and the quality is much lower. I still haven't gotten a "Legendary" piece of equipment and I do play on IWBTH. With my luck, I'd probably get a Legendary Leather Jock Strap.

@Featherweight: Well, featherweight currently has high bid of 801c at item shop bot. Single mid-tier arena on normal should offer several times that.

It's the main issue for burden with heavy armor (which was never an issue before because heavy prof reduced burden). Main issue for burden with light armor is evade. I think both the evade penalty and the crit penalty are fine the way they are, I was just commenting on what I thought was the most reasonable suggestion from the people complaining about burden fucking their crit. True, featherweights would work too, but it wasn't really an option I considered cause I never use featherweights unless they drop (and I don't get very many).

Yeah, I kind of feel the same way. It happens more and more often that I go through entire arenas without a single equipment drop (just happened in the 30 round arena Growing Storm) and Eve of Death only gave me 2 average crap items.

I think equipment turnover is perfectly fine. Release new stuff that's better every so often so everyone gradually upgrades gear. What seems off is how long it takes to replace gear. If things are meant to be replaced, it should happen at a reasonable rate. People like to see progress. One new piece of gear every 6 months makes people want to quit.
