cotton and leather? Unless those are next on the chopping block. This post has been edited by Bunker Buster: Feb 27 2013, 17:30

They do. People just prioritize differently. (Which I expect. Which is why they are T1.)

Shield armor did fit a niche, but it wasn't enough. The game is better balanced towards "glass cannon" than "meat with toothpick".

How about Mithril or Elven Chain Mail? That would give the advantage of a decent PMI, while offering a reduction in burden and allowing a fair speed increase

Old school mitigation multipliers while you're at it. Otherwise it wouldn't be proper crap. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I can see Leather's always >15% resist being appealing in a very niche sense (though pretty useless the way the game is right now) but I'm not sure how you could spin cotton as anything other than garbage, even in the hypothetical situation that 75% of monsters are forced to use magical skills instead of physical skills unless you were planning to make it have Good Magical Mitigation at the same time as making most monsters use magical resist rolls for their skills then we might have something there You could get better returns replacing it with silk and making it a battlemage armor, honestly. *fart* Kevlar and plate are quite uncomfortable, yes. However, Shade is made of human skin and has better touchfeel. Power armor has comfort padding and built-in air conditioning. Gossamer is motherfucking regal. Phase feels like you're wearing nothing at all :3 Seriously, even cotton loses out on comfort.

Well, you know, Snowflake does operate that 'Put Out To Pasture' facility for unloved ponies... As for battlemage Heavy armour, I present to you Chantmail. Kevlar PMI (although maybe have the ranges on the higher side) and Plate MMI Shade Interference Plate Burden MDB, MAB and MCrit Resist 4PABs excluding STR/AGI Have it also drop in Arcanist variant which reduces Interference by 50% and boosts MDB/MAB/Mcrit. Or something like that; I'm sure the balance can be worked out.

@leather: If that "resist" was "parry" instead, there might be an argument there. Unfortunately, evade works better than resist.

Wonder if Snowflake is also involved or works with that food distributor in Europe? (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) This post has been edited by MSimm1: Feb 27 2013, 20:46

Spiked Armor or bone armor. Gives parry.
Reduce anti resist and parry on monsters from 5% to 2.5% that would bring up specific avoidances up in strength towards pmi/mmi
There Is no reason for a player to go from 50% to 25% resist or parry

My 2H Heavy Tank setup is pretty much broken now. I tried Protection Power and Legacy Shield armor. Mob resistances and action speed are just too OP to be able to tank effectively. Granted I don't have Legendary everything, and all the perks, and maxed out training, but for the average Joe I have some of all that. and yes I do play on IBWTH except for Item World, but if I could get my hands on any good drops on any other difficulty then I would bump down.
I don't have any of the new Heavy armor variants, but I really don't see how it's going to make a huge difference, except for perhaps Magnificent or Legendary Plate (which of course, drops so regularly, and I bet is selling for ridiculous prices).
That the sum of my experiences thus far, so, all in all, standard thumbs down to another HV update. I guess there isn't anyone out there that knows how to make HV fun to play again and not mostly tedious for all the past effort.
- JC
P.S. I did dabble with Kevlar/Fleet/Arcanist/Shadowdancer 2H set options, and got my ass kicked hard for the same reasons above, only with less mana consumption. Even with Mace.

Leather should give a bonus to stunning cus of how stunning you look with leather on.
