Looks like I've been lucky again because every piece of armor I've got equipped either has miserable AGI or no AGI at all. (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

This is bullshit!!!! Bullshit!!!!!

One of the few advantages humanoids had over other monsters was their speed. Now that Agility no longer increases speed fast monster classes have lost one of their key strengths.

Since speed can now be increases through Chaos upgrades Giants have also lost one of their major weaknesses. Giants can now be very fast, very strong and have high endurance while while Humanoids are now generally crap. Giants were already the best type of monster and you've tipped the balance in favour of high Str/End monsters even further.

Speed upgrades have been moved from being an expensive crystal upgrade to a cheap Chaos Token upgrade. Maxing a Humanoid's speed previously cost 3million crystals, while maxing a Giant's speed cost 75million crystals. Now both Giants and Humanoids can attain max speed for a paltry 210 Chaos Tokens.

Overall this has:
-Buffed Giants and other slow/strong monsters.
-Nerfed fast monsters since they've lost their key benefit in exchange for a pathetic 2.5% evade.
-Reduced the distinction between monster classes since speed is no longer a distinction.
-Made monsters generally faster since the cost of reaching max speed is now much lower (a few tokens vs millions of crystals).
-Nerfed Eila since she's now got another maxed attribute that does pretty much bugger all.

Eila now has lots of high stats that don't do anything and she's about as combat effective as a level 800 Giant. Attributes need to be scaled more by a monster's overall PL because at the moment high level monsters are a joke.

The 0.7 series has been one disaster after another! (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)

It will prepare them for the ambidextrous mages, with a dagger in each hand.

If I got a clean slate, there would be only five primary stats, with today's dexterity and agility combined into one. This may very well happen, but it's a bit.. involved.

Really, couldn't you rollback this agility nerf until you decide to combine dex+agi? Agi just became almost pointless, and the action speed reduction has been a huge nerf to literally everyone right now, and in probably 24h or so every high-levelled monster will have some AS token upgrades in place, making the huge nerf become a humongous nerf

More luck for me given the elemental strike of my Magnificent Shocking Estoc of the Illithid. Also, humanoids used to be my worst enemies (with emphasis on USED TO BE, bwahaha! (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) ).

Shouldn't there be a Swiftness listed in Bonus Stats on the Monster Stats page of the Monster Lab?

QUOTE(Tenboro @ Feb 23 2013, 04:33) *

0.74.0 - 2013-02-23

- Base Action Speed is now fixed at 100 time units. That is, it is no longer affected by Agility. This change affects both players and monsters, and means that you should no longer see a large speed disparity at higher levels.
-- Note that Action Speed is still affected by certain effects (like Haste/Slow) and the weapon Swift Strike potency.

-Wow, I just super boosted my agility for the purpose of boosting my action speed.... Combined with other factors, this is probably going to be the biggest nerf for everyone who is of any decent level. (Though I suspect the usual people won't be affected by this).

- Effect duration as well as heal- and damage-over-time ticks have been partially decoupled from the round counter, and now tick every 100 time units, independent of speed-affecting effects and actual action time.

-I assume this isn't related to real time so this is a nice change

- Daggers and Wakizashi now have an innate bonus to Attack Speed. They can also drop in the new "of Swiftness" variant that further increases this bonus.
-- Note that this potentially stacks with the Swift Strike potency.

YES! Dagger users ftw!

- Burden reduction was removed as a heavy armor proficiency bonus.

Well, understandable somewhat but definitely hurts me

- The first round of Armor Prefixes were added. Similar to Weapon Prefixes, these are rare variants of armor that provide a small bonus over the plain variants.
-- Cloth Armor drops as Charged (+cast speed) and Frugal (+mana conservation)
-- Light Armor drops as Agile (+attack speed) and Reinforced (+crush/slash/pierce specific mitigation)
-- Heavy Armor drop as Shielding (+block when using a shield) and Mithril (-20% burden)
-- Buckler and Kite Shields can drop as Agile, Reinforced and Mithril, while Tower can drop as Reinforced and Mithril.
-- All armor types that do not drop with elemental suffixes (all except cotton/leather) can drop as Ruby (+fire resist), Cobalt (+cold resist), Amber (+elec resist) and Jade (+wind resist) variants.

(Note that to avoid confusion, whatever equipment remained with the ancient Mithril and Ruby equipment level indicating names were renamed.)

Looking forward to charged and frugal, agile, and mithril

- Protection (normal) was changed to be a +25% increase in equipment armor bonuses to a straight +25% physical/magical mitigation boost.

- Haste (normal) was reduced to +25% action speed.

somewhat bad for me

- Monsters now use the player mitigation forumula for physical mitigation. Meaning, it doesn't increase as fast at higher levels, and caps at 80.

In theory, good for me

- Arcane Blow (basic staff melee attack) is now the sum of base physical and magical attack damage. (changed from phys + mag / 2)

Well, good for when I want to smack things with my staff

- RiddleMaster appearance was tweaked. It will appear less often on average, but at less predictable intervals.

Bad for me since I do mostly arenas, but meh

- Some of the early arenas were dropped, others had slight adjustment to round count and monster composition.

x.x I have no idea how this will affect me.

I should note the agility and heavy armor changes does nerf heavy armor quite a bit though the other changes somewhat make up for it. Time to spend the next month removing my agility stat, lol.

I don't see any changes in this patch affect ethereal/elemental weapons. Can you elaborate ?

you will get a <20% crit and 0% evade if didn't use feather charm
when you are wearing high burden weapon and good heavy set.

How to solve this?use Ethreal.

Remember,enchantment is choice not innate
If you should use a lot feather to do the normal playing as innate, that mean there's some terrible problem.

Light is not sure because my test is before Mr.Tenb fix that dmg 100% bug.
Now I'm too lag maybe my ISP area or something,so can't test again, sorry.

But in 0.74 you will take obviously more dmg when you are using kevlar with elemental weapon.
This version monster's action too terrible.

How to solve this?use Ethreal.

However, this version highlight the importance of Ethereal too much.
I think make all players think ethereal weapon is only good weapon is not a good idea.

With the action speed revamp, I think monsters' base speed should be differentiated by class.

Rather than completely removing the burden bonus to heavy prof, it would have been far more fair to just cap the reduction to x%, say something like 8-10% what the old title bonus gave.

That's not how it worked. It added 1/4th of each equipment piece's mitigation, multiplicatively. So if you were wearing a chest with 10% mit, it would add an additional 2.5%. The new one will be more powerful in every situation.

Uh, wait a minute. Why was everyone in the experts topic and also the wiki stating protection would apply 100% mitigation again and not 25%?
See http://ehwiki.org/index.php?title=Spells&a...amp;oldid=20166

* ''Each physical and magical mitigation from equipment is applied again, at 100% value, not 25% as listed.

I doubt this was just thrown there out of the blue, please double check that.
If if was indeed 100% before, now after the protection change this is definitely a huge blow and certainly less (or rather more?) than you intended to be.

edit: also, the action speed revamp seems weird.. regen not ticking every turn is seriously anti-fun.

-heavy is now the only type of equipment that gets 2 bonuses everything else gets 3. +0.25 pmit/10 prof? Or added damage~
-remove the crit decrease from burden, having no evade already hurts enough.

It seems quite a few of us agree that the agility nerf hurt most players.

The combined burden and agility nerf hurts heavy armor a lot more than others though since burden affected evade change and before if you had a good enough proficiency and a light enough heavy armor, you could potentially still have some evade. Now that agility is nerfed, all heavy armor users get from agility is really the crit rate which.... you guessed it, is also affected by burden.

That isn't to say that heavy armor isn't still good. It just lost a pretty big bonus.

Personally, the nerf hurts light armor a lot too since with agility being much less useful, the light armor's +10% level agility now does a lot less.

(I wonder exactly how badly cloth got hit by the nerf-it seemed to me that cloth was probably the most reliant on agility's speed boost and they can't really remove agility since it still affects evade)

Congrats Tenby for turning agility from the most valuable stat to the least valuable with a single move.
