I really wish I could be allowed to do some work with that, seems fairly easy to me depending on how you do it.

I mean, especially if they have soul strike already, just set a flag of some form when you change the soul strike, then change the soul damage bonus, then unset the flag. Or just make that random also (that would be all sorts of amusing, a dark strike staff with holy spell damage bonus anyone?)

Here's the interesting thing. Older Ethereals do Soul damage (which you can upgrade by Hollowforging them - this also gives them a random Elemental Strike). What happens to those that *aren't* upgraded yet? Will they do *holy* or *dark* damage as their main physical attack?

Hmm. That could be entertaining to see in action. Especially if you could infuse the opposite element.

Now we just need to be able to use shampoos as battle items, and it'll turn into Ranma.

I don't usually make posts as I am not that much into the game and likely what I might say might be considered, hmm, less than intelligent by those who are. I've played long enough to get wacked by patches. In the long run where possible when changing something like this why not implement it in such a way that people don't feel wacked and it removes the sting out of the change ?

In this particular case and since the Forge exists why not use the Forge to allow the players the choice of which way their weapon will operate, either Holly, Dark or a combination ? The monster class Sprite has the ability under 'Skill Editor' to continually change its secondary attack to any of the elements, so evidently the game is written losely enough to accomdate this.

If a player at least has a one time choice from some options, it will take some of the sting away. If the option is allowed to continually change the behavior pattern like Sprite is allowed to do, then it changes their perspective of the item to unique, because the system will not vend any more items with this capability. It will also change the perspective of a new patch from being a bitter pill that has to be swallowed.

As an example if perse Estoc is needs to be pulled, allow the player between battles to change the Estoc into a Scythe, Katana, or Mace. If you actually want to have the players drool over waiting for a patch to be implemented allow them to change Estoc during a battle...(though that's likely a bit much to code on your end).

With all the changes to elemental resistance and the coming deletion of soul, I wonder if Tenboro already has the new ability tree planned out.

I hope he won't just rearrange the icons to spell out FUCK YOU, though.

On another note... I got like 10 Sutr or w/e staves from a single Arena run.... Think the game is telling me something?




Anyways, I noticed one of my staves' ET duration got boosted to 4, but some of the rest are still at 2 and some are still at 3.

Not that I'm complaining mind you since I'm actually liking the 4 duration (it makes ET at least somewhat useable (not really but definitely a noticeable improvement)

@mrttao: I was trying to point out perspective. Ok, maybe I'll use this as an example: If you have 100,000 USD, 20 Billion USD would look like a LOT to you. If you have over 9000 Centillion USD (Probably enough to buy the planet and the rights to everyone living in it), 20 Billion USD would be what falls out of your pockets unnoticed.

You passed level 160. When you hit 160, some staves gain a turn of ET. Same thing happens at 260. Those were the numbers before this patch, and looks like they haven't changed.
