Rei-Tenshi: that's interesting, I always tend to keep spark on IA since I don't really hurt for mana and it saves my neck in the few rare situations where RNG works against me or when I don't feel like casting cure. Or feel masochistic by opening with regen II.

But while the current patch does mean that melee won't be able to go quite as deep inside gf as before due the way damage increases in there it isn't really that much more shallow, depending on how one's equipment were set up. Meanwhile, the tier changes hurt mage far more when it comes to equipment. I believe that in general giving up half? crystals to get half BT equipment drops is pretty darn good trade, especially since that some equipment just isn't sold. Finally, END change hurts mages too since they got most mit there, it is just that they are less dependent on soaking and more on facemelting and evading.

Looks like the evade&resist actually help quite a bit. I've got ~1k more damage and 1.5% more mit and found IWBTH arenas rather.. annoying. Guess some sharding wouldn't hurt, heh.
Wonder how well BC vs. illithid performs though, can't say I run into mana issues with mine, even with 151% mana cost.

Since Kevlar isn't very expensive - it won't be a problem, unless you'll aim on a Legendary/Magnificent set, but even then it'll probably take just 5-15mils in total (i.e. Magnificent/Legendary Phase of Heimdall set - 40-50mils). Not sure about Legendary Shade tbh, it may be expensive. I've got my leggings as a random drop in the middle of some first page arena.

Good Ethereal Estocs of Illithid/Battlecaster are kinda rare though (I'm not a fan of elemental weapon at all), but still obtainable. I've paid 880k for mine, but it was before the 0.7.3 PA assrape. I'm pretty sure the prices will drop somewhat. Also it'd be wise to get mace and scythe of the same type(s) just in case.
