QUOTE(Rei-Tenshi @ Jan 21 2013, 16:30) The MAIN problem is that you halved the MP gain. Give back the old MP gain rate and the whining will stop, guaranteed. You guarantee it, huh? That's quite bold of you.. The old gain rate doesn't translate directly to a heal over time, but when you say that it's decreased that's probably accurate. So what I am going to do is increase the duration of ET by one, to make it easier to stack. That was originally a part of .1, but I kept it out, since it's easier to buff something than to nerf it.

QUOTE(Evil Scorpio @ Jan 21 2013, 10:08) Yeah, experienced mages say the staff shoved up your ass dramatically increases your magic score and also prevent you from assrape by monsters, because you can't rape the ass which is already occupied. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) There is no equipment slot for asshole. Is it something you have to unlock?

About this patch, yes. This is the only change that is so big that it screws over mages bigtime. Notice how nobody whined about the Aether Shard or Ebony staff changes. Or... just give us back the old ET. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) Seriously, melee remains braindead, and now you want mages to do double the effort for half the reward.

Nah, I assume staff goes into the "Legs" slot, so mages are fighting without pants. Which makes sense, because I'm pretty sure you can't wear pants with the staff shoved up your ass. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) This post has been edited by Evil Scorpio: Jan 21 2013, 18:27

You also took out the actual draining of mana from monsters which is another nerf, albeit not a big one.
If Illithid weapons worked in the same fashion monsters basically wouldn't need a real mana amount anymore. You can just give every monster 40 MP and have them gain 2 points every turn they get (1 point if poisoned), same end result with less hassle for the server to compute.

Also. Why just anothet enchantment that mainly benefits melee. Infusing a staff for more strikes doesn't really help much. Now if that boosted damage output or gave a second cast (think strike for spells) then it would help both sides.
Why not let et proc if mages kill any mob with a staff hit. Wont disrupt the balance would it?
Another question. Where is the niten syle we were promised

QUOTE(MSimm1 @ Jan 21 2013, 08:03) I'm not showing the Aura Slot ability points on my ability tree (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Do we just reset and the three extra ability points are just there? I just reset my ability points and did not get them, so I dunno. Unless I calculated it wrong: At level 237 and 66/100 ability training, that should be 302 or 303, but I only was able to spend 298.

Seriously, fuck the noob mages who were saying the old ET was hard. This whole Ether Tap bullshit could have been avoided if they had the brains to keep their mouths shut. Sigh, stupidity won this day. (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/cry.gif)

QUOTE(skillchip @ Jan 21 2013, 17:15) Why not have specific mit sum now instead of multiplicative inverse since it doesn't scale anymore
Wouldn't that give you 100% elemental mit quite easily with some maxed potencies? QUOTE(kramerica @ Jan 21 2013, 18:00) I just reset my ability points and did not get them, so I dunno. Unless I calculated it wrong:

There are several other abilities that are permanent, namely Item Slots, X-Abilities, Scroll Slots, Infusion Slots, and Focused Auras. I doubt you have none of those?

I just reset my Ability Tree, twice, exactly as it was at the start and didn't get the three extra from the Aura Slot abilies (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Even with the permanent abilities, shouldn't there have been three extra on the reset?

People who've reset their abilities since 0.73.1, have you received the AP refunds from aura slots?
