Well I just made those 4 icons for attack and magic accuracy. Plus the icon for the blood token.

Not sure if I'm happy with the skull, I may go back and replace them with stars.

Now I want to finish out the items folder. I'm getting stuck on how to further modify the existing potion icons into greater superior and godly verities. I also need to make actual icons for wind waker, thrice blessed and maybe a new one spirit ward.

Oh, and for those of you wondering, this is how the project is structured.

There's also a cutting room floor folder. Any icon I make, but can't decide on using, goes there. As they may turned into an asset later. As you can see, thePOWERofGREYskull!.png just got used quite a bit.

Yeah, Tenboro will tell you, I gave most of the CRF icons some rather silly names.

Though what I really need is some larger (say 48x48) icons to use as default for the different monster classes. I was thinking about making it a contest of sorts, ...

Icons for the different monster classes is something I've been
waiting for forever but I'm too lazy to particiapte in any contest.
My suggestion however is that the icons ought to be intuitive much
like the 'Colored Chart' because that's at least what I can be bothered
to look at when I'm trying to figure out weaknesses of various monsters.

Yeah... about that... I might not participate in the 48x48 contests if they are held. I am still going to make the 17x17 icons for identifying monster types on the fly, and I might include 100 recolors for each of them assuming that there is a point to doing so.

If Tenboro is planing on doing a contest for 48x48 icons for monsters specifically, I might just stand back and let other players have a go at it, so they have chance to acquire whatever prizes he may offer.

The goal of this project is help players who don't speak English understand the game better... Probably doesn't matters that most of the the suffix/binding icons are tans of professions or Norse gods. (You can blame the inclusion of Mjolnir for me using tans instead of the actual gods. But would the actual god be better?)

Though what I really need is some larger (say 48x48) icons to use as default for the different monster classes. I was thinking about making it a contest of sorts, but if you're up for it, you could get a head start. :3

For the time being you could just borrow some sprites from [wesnoth.org] wesnoth. If something is already done reuse, laziness is a programmers virtue. All the art there is under GNU GPL and it looks pretty good, later we can have a competition (and I will participate for sure). A few examples from there:

I mentioned that the wesnoth project have many sprites under GNU GPL licensing (it is very close to the Creative Commons license). I do participate in the wesnoth project (making extra campingns for example) and often I get art from free sources and use for small edits on the spirtes there. Basicaly what I'm asking is:

You are the artist of the sprites here and you are not seeking profit from them. It would be a very good idea to license this art under Creative Commons or GNU GPL, in which case the sprites can be used not only in HV but in many free software projects (in this case I am pusshing my apple towards wesnoth (IMG:[invalid] style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)). Are you planning to give a permission like Creative Commons to this art?

What I plan "exactly" to do is to use this art to change a few sprites on wesnoth and include these in one piece of the game (my campaign there). But the important point is that after the art goes into wesnoth it is freely available to the free software community in general (i.e. this is a pre-requisite for the art going into the game in the first place).

PS: GNU GPL is the license used by Hentai at Home code and GNU FDL (very, very similar to Creative Commons) is used by EH wiki. Also I would strongly suggest to read a bit about Creative Commons and GNU GPL before deciding, you can visit the free software foundation website by googling it or there is also a direct link in my signature.

I hope this replies your doubts. Basically I'm a programmer and an extremly bad artist therefore I try to find art sources wherever I can.

On free software projects we try to be very ethical about the sources of art, music and code we reuse. This is the reason I am asking so verbosely. If you cannot stand the idea of giving your work to the community in general that's fine (but have a read about the ideas on these free licenses first please). Thanks in advance.

I understand where you are coming from but I want the art from the language breaker project to remain exclusive to the Hentaiverse. That may change at some point in the future, but I doubt it and it would most likely be because of factors outside of my control.

Also if I were to make CC or CNU GPL artwork, it would not be under the moniker I use to browse porn sites with. Just sayin'.

Karma is appreciated, since it took me 20 minutes to reconfigure nginx so it worked right, apparently there's a small bug where this occasionally got processed by the PHP handler for my Ubuntu-stuff blog and it caused explosivity.
