0.29.0 - 2013-12-13
- Thumbnail Mode now also works on the favorite screen. Note that
Expunge and Torrent icons are hidden to make room for the checkbox to manipulate favorite entries.
- Slight tweaks to thumbnail mode layout. All thumbnail "containers" on a given row should now be the same height.
- When a bounty is cancelled, contributors who added several rewards to it will no longer get multiple PM notifications about the same bounty.
- The minimum bounty post amount was adjusted for inflation/realism. Also, additional rewards below 5000C will no longer "bump" a bounty.
- Fixed a problem that made the uploader search fail for people who had consecutive underscores in the username.
- A list of all bounties from a given poster can now be viewed by adding ?u=userid to the URL. Clicking someone's username from the bounty screen will now link here instead of the forum profile screen. (The PM icon obviously still links there.)
- Many internal changes to H@H integration as detailed in
the separate H@H posts have been introduced in incremental steps over the last month and a half. These are mostly of interest for people who actually run clients, but is a core change in how files are distributed and dispatched, and therefore affects everyone.
Specifically, the new "static range" system is now fully in place, which will greatly reduce the overhead of tracking files on the H@H network. This should however be fully transparent to visitors. Note that clients have to be running the 1.1 branch (or higher when it exits beta) to take advantage of this.
0.29.1 - 2013-12-21
- Due to increasing mobile DPI, lofi now uses large thumbnails.
- Improved overall lofi thumbnail layout for galleries with variable thumbnail heights.
- The external gallery generator was changed to use large thumbnails, but now only includes the first 40 pages.
- The uploader was changed to use large thumbnails. Too.
- The so-called "combine" thumbnails, where normal-sized thumbnails are combined into a single tiled image of up to 20 thumbs for speed and performance reasons, have been reworked somewhat. The new version will fully supplant the stand-alone normal thumbnails, unlike the old method which required both to be available. They are also notably higher quality, since they are generated directly from the source files instead of the large thumbnails. (This wasn't possible with the old uploaders.)
-- The system has already started using these for newer galleries, but they all have to be regenerated, which is a process that will take approximately 40 days. Older galleries will start using the new combines as they are generated.
0.29.2 - 2013-12-25
- The algorithm used by the Archiver to determine whether filenames need to be prefixed with their page number or not has been beefed up somewhat. While it previously required that the specific page number had to be a part of the filename, it will now only prefix if any of these three conditions are true:
1: A filename is used more than once (case-insensitive)
2: A regular (1 2 20 21 3 30) sort of the filenames differs from the file order
3: A natural (1 2 3 20 21 30) sort of the filenames differs from the file order
Note that this will only apply to newly generated archives.
0.29.3 - 2013-12-29
- Added a toggle under
My Settings to make the Archiver automatically accept the download cost and/or automatically start the download.
0.29.4 - 2014-01-01
- The formula for moderation power has been modified. Karma is no longer used; instead, a performance metric based on accuracy of tagging has been added. This uses your tagging history to calculate a score based on how many tags you have added that ended up being valid or not, as well as how many tags you voted for/against that ended up being valid or not. (
Read more here.)
- Added a readout for moderation power as well as each individual factor under
My Home- Some of the donation tiers now get slightly more Hath per day. Silver now gets 1 Hath, and all tiers from Gold through Catgirl were boosted by +2.
0.29.5 - 2014-01-07
- Added a new index table for tags to help speed up certain kinds of searches involving galleries that could potentially be non-visible (expunged/deleted/private/etc). Uncached tag queries for these should now be about an order of a magnitude faster.
- Additional tweaks to moderation power: a new factor for gallery uploads and H@H/AaS was added. The cap for secondary factors was increased to +25, and the modifier for tag performance can now go from -10 to +10.
0.29.6 - 2014-01-09
- A new image access stat/logging mechanism was introduced. This is a full revamp that uses the shared memory object cache to do all the logging (1000+ entries per second) instead of the obnoxiously single-point-of-failure MySQL-based stat tracking server we've been using for this until now.
0.29.7 - 2014-01-18
- General search engine performance improvements
- Don't search name/description/etc when the search term is a namespaced tag
- Should now recognize "booru-style" tag searches using comma delimiters, and replace with appropriate quotes instead
0.29.8 - 2014-02-01
- Added proper support for W3C-compatible touch interfaces for the Multi-Page Viewer.
0.29.9 - 2014-02-14
We have a couple of new 10 Gbit thumbnail servers with odles of Solid-State Storage, and because of that we can now do this:
- Large thumbnails are now available for all registered visitors.
- Everyone now have at least four rows of thumbnails. (Unregistered visitors were previously limited to two rows.)
(Note that while Normal thumbnails are still generally available, they are now only generated after a gallery is published, so for private or very recently published galleries large thumbnails may be forced temporarily.)
If you encounter any issues with this update, please post about them here.
