Arming the Forces, Part III

Equipment has now been enabled.

As it was commented that my posts get long and boring, you'll have to find out everything about it yourself. Otherwise there would be about two pages of text detailing the various stats, procs and other effects here.

Equipment will be balanced over the next few days, and if anyone starts whining that some of your gear suddenly got weaker, I will fucking kill you. I don't care if I just broke your master plan.

Magic

- Deprecative magic proficiency now has a larger effect of the damage from Poison.

- Deprecative magic proficiency now has a larger effect of the effect of Nerf, particularly the defensive reduction.

- Shield and Barrier have been altered as follows:
-- Both spells now work by absorbing the first few points of each attack. The base values are 3 points for Shield and 7 points for Barrier.
-- They are now heavily affected by your supportive magic proficiency. The base absorption values are multiplied by a factor that increased by 1/10 per point of proficiency. The exact values are displayed on the tooltip of active effects.
-- Shield and Barrier scrolls can now be run together with the spell-cast version. Both scroll versions last 42 turns and mitigates 25% of the corresponding damage.
-- Doubled the duration on both spells, and increased their mana cost by a lesser amount.

- The scroll versions of Shadow Veil and Hasten can now be run with their spell-cast versions. Both scroll versions are equivalent in power to a 200-proficiency cast, and lasts 23 turns.

- Increased the duration of Haste.

- Elemental ratings no longer affect supportive and deprecative magic. (Mostly because the vast majority were already "none" type and thus were unintentionally affected by the Searing Radiance ability.)

Misc

- Added a toggle in the Settings pane to use Downloadable Fonts, among others introduced with Firefox 3.5, instead of the HentaiVerse font engine. For some browsers, like Firefox, using this mode will greatly (wtb more extreme superlative) speed up the rendering time on page loads. Note that this will generally look butt ugly if you don't have font smoothing enabled, and even if you do, there might be some minor rendering glitches here and there.

Note that if you turn this on in a browser that doesn't support downloadable fonts (Firefox 3.0 and earlier, Opera before 10 final, all versions of IE, Safari before 3.1 I believe), it will fail and fall back to some generic font.

Underlined: This mode is highly experimental. Don't whine about it.

- Monsters in the grindfest no longer have reduced damage output.

- Increased the amount of EXP awarded in grindfest mode.

- Because Weapon Accuracy is now active, base hit chance has been reduced back to 80%, and is now the same for monsters and players.

- The Wheel of Monster Balance has been spun. People should no longer try to fight naked, especially at higher levels. This will be tweaked further over the next few days depending on feedback and battle result stats.

- Effect icons now do a fadey flashy thing when they are about to expire.

I am taking no damage at all from attacks. This is unbelievable.

Weaken barely works now due to interference, but with all my Plate, it doesn't matter. Win some, lose some I guess.

Sweet, I have two suggestions for this update.

1. The nice flashy status icons, could they be turned off when a mob is dead. Seeing bleeding flashing on a mob that I killed 4 turns ago is a bit annoying.
2. On the overall statistics for the equipment, could you also include the negative effects such as burden and interference.

Holy mother f-ing shit cock...armor piercing is insane. It procs almost every attack (11% chance) and makes it so I 2 shot most mobs.

EDIT:
A suggestion for the character page

Would be nice to see the upgrades from the equipment on the primary attributes on a separate column e.g.

DEX 22 +0 +3
AGI 26 +0 +1
...
So it would be easier to see which upgrades come from the auras and which ones are from the equipment

Holy cow, I feel godly. I'm still doing a lot of the same damage, but now I'm procing Bleed and barely take damage. Let's see how long that lasts before it gets balanced. I better go clear out some arenas while I can.

The new blinking is awesome and I'm assuming that it'll eventually get fixed that it stops when the monster is already dead.
