- Moved log write synchronization to prevent rare errors when rotating logs.

- TCP sending buffers are now calculated dynamically. Note that for low-memory clients, making sure the throttle is set correctly (even if disabled) will avoid wasting RAM.

- When H@H is started with the --port=<num> argument, the port is no longer overridden by the startup sequence. This enables an easy hack to run H@H on port 80 on Linux as a non-privileged user by using a local forwarding rule, such as:

CODE
-A INPUT -p tcp --dport 80 -j ACCEPT
-A INPUT -p tcp --dport 7777 -j ACCEPT
-A PREROUTING -t nat -i eth0 -p tcp --dport 80 -j REDIRECT --to-port 7777

- The startup check for static ranges will now only fail if the cache is empty and more than 20 ranges are set. (The absolute strictness could cause problems under some circumstances.)

- Added mime-type for webm.

To update an existing client: shut it down, download Hentai@Home 1.2.6, extract the archive, copy the jar files over the existing ones, then restart the client.

For information on how to join Hentai@Home, check out The Hentai@Home Project FAQ.

Other download options can be found at the usual place.

I'm more excited about this one. This will make explaining stuff to struggling people easier! yay!

i updated the wiki. Joe did update it already but forgot this little detail. (and i hope Joe will not kill me for that).

Meh, I don't fiddle with the switches myself so I don't maintain that portion of the wiki.

Quick question please, if my H@H client is already running smoothly, is there any point in updating to 1.2.6 ? It's on windows with port forwarded properly and everything (aka none of the update applies to my current setup)

Good question, it looks like only the following will benefit you in the case of an upgrade
CODE
- Moved log write synchronization to prevent rare errors when rotating logs.
- Added mime-type for webm.

Not even sure about the last one.

There seems to be a problem with the client on my server. Today, the server connection was interrupted for at least 8 hours, which caused the client to fail.
It seems that the login session was terminated and the client does not makes attempts to renegotiate a new session. Had to restart the client. Probably a rather small fix because it seems that just the error handler is missing.

Does the dispatcher favor H@H servers that run on ports 80/443? If not, what's the point in using these ports for H@H?

If you're behind a firewall that blocks other ports.

Today's my first day using H@H. So far I have 1042 files served 75047 KB/s max speed, 708 trust, 2685 quality, 0.1 hit/min. Am I doing something wrong?

I originally had ~900+ trust and a little higher quality, but I thought I corrupted my cache (with kill -i pid), so I deleted everything and restarted (and went to negative -100 trust for awhile).

Nothing wrong. H@H takes a few days/weeks to build up its cache, static ranges, and to start serving files at high capacity.
