Just wondering what some people think of romance animes and which romance animes they have watched.

lol shit, that's one BIG list you got there, though i won't exactly agree on some of the series you put up there but oh well (IMG:[ invalid] style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Personally i don't think there are many out there with enough oomph to surprise us or move us emotionally, though occasionally you get something like Kanon or Clannad coming along with the stuff that is = to a WIN cause of the way it's set up Guess this is too difficult for me to describe >.< i know i'm too vague, so i'll leave explanations to another guy who understands what i'm trying to say XD CBA to go through your list to pick out the ones i've watched, cause it's annoying listing out so many...took a glance and already saw 10 odd series or more that i've finished, so...probs end up around 20-30 (btw, i'm kinda curious how you can manage to put shingetsutan or shana into the catergory of romance :3) not like i have a problem with your listing whatsoever |

Blasphemy you are missing two of the best romance anime out there. Bokura ga Ita and Strawberry Panic.
Oh yeah and I agree alot of those anime aren't romance anime from a fan's perspective just a film critics.

Nice. This could pass as a checklist of series I need to watch. Yay for romance.
Most of the stuff I could think of was in that list, but if anyone in this thread wants more romance to watch, there are still...
Kodomo no Omocha (a wacky romance show with grade school kids. ...No, wait, don't make a mental note to avoid it yet, it's better than I make it sound.)
Uchuu no Stellvia (which someone lovingly called "Harry Potter in space", or school life and romance plus world-saving on a space station)
Genshiken (the focus is not on romance but it's there all right, a slice-of-life series concentrating on otaku)
Saber Marionette J (Distant future, distant planet. The men are men and the women are artificially created. You know the "android/doll/any artificial lifeform that wished to be human" - theme. It has more seasons, too, but I haven't seen those.)
DNA^2 (A dude who throws up upon seeing women in a state of undress turning into a Mega-Playboy who seduces women like it's nothing and a time-traveler who caused this. And a bunch of others thrown into the fray to complicate things. I really have a soft spot for this one.)
Tonagura! (The classic setting: male does something perverted, female resorts to physical, mental, verbal (or all of the aforementioned) violence, they make up, lather, rinse, repeat. But the guy actually is a pervert this time round. Love Hina 2, this is not. Fortunately enough.)
